As a busy mother, who also works outside of the home, I fell into terribly bad practice habits (I would go full weeks without really singing much, which is just insane!) I found myself losing technique, range, and finesse. After a spell where I moped about, frustrated about a seeming lack of vocal opportunities in this season of my life,  I rededicated myself to simply singing at home, and decided to practice my scales, a few basic vocal exercises, and purposefully sing for 30 minutes every day, in a variety of styles, NO. MATTER. WHAT. Even if my 2 year old is melting down because she wants a third  cookie (granola bar), and I say "no." I'm uploading this recording simply because I find it amusing and I want to laugh about it every year when it comes up in Timehop ;) This is a Lake Street Dive tune, blues enthused, and the lyrics  perfectly accompany my daughter's fit, and, to be candid, reflect my feelings about motherhood sometimes, " nobody knows what I'm doing here, and I ain't got a clue."
