‘Lovelee Dae’, a classic pumper by New Jersey duo Blaze from 1996, gets all the love it deserves on 4 To The Floor in a ten-track mega release featuring remixes from the likes of Frankie Bones, Carl Craig and more. The Original and Radio Edit versions feature a classic deep house bassline, soft hi-hats and distinctive melodic keys. Austrian DJ Joyce Muniz drops the tempo and lays down a bouncy refrain in her laid-back remix. 20:20 Vision, aka Carl Finlow and Ralph Lawson, add bongo beats in their deeper-reaching extended version. The Beloved, aka Jon and Helena Marsh, inject even more groove into their Vocal Rmx, Chris Duckenfield provides a percussive Primitive Dub and Italian duo Supersonic Lovers get funky in their disco-inflicted remix. Brooklyn production titan Frankie Bones brings his famed Summer of Love sound to his previously unreleased Rave Redux mix featuring a thumping bass-line and acid-rave-centric drum rolls. Detroit techno king Carl Craig puts his stamp on the track in his warped 70 Degrees And Sunny Mix rounding off an impressive remix package. Long live this infectiously groovy house music classic.

If anyone can create an evocative atmosphere, it’s Chez Moon. ‘Midnight Love’ is one of those effortlessly stunning records that flawlessly translates into hedonistic dancefloor moments. The Australian duo call on Rocco Rodamaal and Larse for cosmic reproductions on this dazzling Defected debut release. Lyon producer Rocco takes a housey route, laying down a rumbling low-end and ramping up the energy with dizzying pads. Keeping to the emotive undertone, Larse pulls out the delicate keys and mixes in soft bass stabs in his ‘Full Moon’ rendition. Unleashing sweet euphoria like real music should, ‘Midnight Love’ is a cut above the rest.

Up next is the ever-popular UK talent Iglesias with his latest standout piece ‘Every Inch’. Calling in rising star Ben Sterling and label favourite Jezen on remix duties, ‘Every Inch’ offers a super-varied package - capable of appealing to even the most diverse of musical palates. 

The original mix is a firm reminder of why Iglesias is such a revered name within the UK scene and further afield. Swinging the gate open with a robust combination of groove-assembling elements, ‘Every Inch’ truly champions the Libero Sound. A captivating low-frequency partnership of thumping kick drums and rolling sub-bass cut straight through the middle of the track, paving the way for endless rhythm and a masterfully pieced together vocal topline that ties everything together perfectly. 

Ben Sterling follows with a standout remix, flipping things on its head. A perpetual analogue low end with heaps of grit and rawness throughout. Ben’s preference for hardware shines through in the remix, giving it an essentially dusty feel with endless dancefloor appeal. Glitchy, quirky and hard to put down; individuality with a real hooking quality.

Jezen brings the release to a close with a progressively building and enslaving re-work of the title track. Undeniably deep and full of soul, something we have seen him bring to the label previously with great effect, he’s on target with yet another standout track. Flicking between 4/4 and two-step, its layered synths and filtered vocals that modulate throughout the track all add incredible amounts of personality. Perfect to open or to close with.
