A recomposition of “Laura” by Alev Lenz, from the album “3.”

I was initially drawn to this piece because my mother’s name is Laura. I decided to begin with some found sound recorded both in and around my childhood home, and in and around my current apartment. In my reimagining of the song, it became a tone-poem/meditation on the natures of motherhood, daughterhood, vulnerability, and imperfection.
