The formidable Voidloss (@Voidloss) unleashed a torrent of heavyweight techno at Birmingham's Resonance back in September where he was joined by his Singularity Recordings label mates Makaton and CWS. The London based producer is on point each and every time with a signature sound to the way his beats and percussion hit.

This hybrid DJ / Live Set was recorded in a yurt structure at the Freerotation Festival in Wales. This time my idea for the set was to take us all much further out, much deeper inside than the set from last year. A more disembodied experience. 

As I had done last year, I sat on the floor in front of the speakers to perform instead of behind them as a DJ normally does. This greatly enhanced my feeling of experiencing the set with the audience, dissolving the usual performer / audience divide. 
Below is the list of tracks that I played in addition to live improvisation using a eurorack modular system.

Here's a recording of my Live Set at Festival Forte made using modular synthesisers and hardware machines. It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets. After an incredible CLOSE Tour in Paris, Glasgow and London we are leading into another crazy week, the annual Amsterdam ADE conference.  This year is a special one for me as I’ll be doing a special extended set on Friday October 19th  for Loveland's new All-Nighters concept at Warehouse Houthavens, which gives me plenty of time to weave in and out of lots of special sounds, frequencies and rhythms.  To get you through the week here is the recording of my BPM festival set from just a few weeks ago, which will surely get you in the mood and give you a taste of what to expect on Friday night!

This month on PoleGroup radio we are going to listen to a mix from the spanish duo Exium, who are celebrating their 20 years career this year.

They will release soon a double 12", with a selection of remastered Exium tracks of the last 2 decades and they will have a celebration event in Lanna club in Gijón, Spain on may 11th where they will be playing an all night long set.

You can also see them playing on April 21 @ Awakenings Amsterdam as Selección Natural together with Oscar Mulero and Reeko. On April 26 @ Cialo in Wroclaw Poland, on April 27 again as Selección Natural @ Fold London.

Binary Trax is a electronic music co-operative and independent label from Aberdeen Scotland. We started our nights Binary School in 2013 and have had the pleasure of hosting over 40 local, national and international producers. 
We are a non-profit co-operative who began as a venue for producers to come and play whatever type of electronic music they produced. In the last 3 years we’ve hosted drone ambient to speedcore artists and most genres in-between. 
 
Binary School’s aims are simple: give gig time to local producers, create a space where gender / race / age / sexuality are never an issue, play good quality music and dance. Binary Trax releases will be a reflection of that diversity In style and substance.
