'The truth-seer opened her eyes. The familiar sensation of weightlessness barely registered in her thoughts; her mind focused only on the task at hand. She felt the heat of the sun on her skin long before the image came into view, a vast desert baking under its watchful eye.

“Two thousand, seven hundred and forty-three paths – they all lead us to this place,” she said. From her vantage point she began the process of trimming each potential route from her mind’s eye, losing the concurrent threads of possibility before settling on the optimal direction.

The visions faded instantly as she removed the headset.
