Enter into Islam Wholeheartedly — Abū Ukkāshah ‘Abdul Hakeem

• O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan. Verily! He is to you a plain enemy. [Sūrah al-Baqarah, 208]

— Imām as-Si’dī about entering Islām fully and not obeying lowly desires. 

• All the Prophets and Messengers called to the worship of Allaah and staying away from worshipping besides Him.

 
• O you who believe! Answer Allah and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life [Sūrah al-Anfāl, 24]

— Benefits mentioned by Ibn al-Qayyim about this ayah. 

• Shaykh al-Fawzān on the musāra’ah, constant war, between a person and Shaytaan; ends only when the both feet of a person in Paradise.

• Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Sūrah āl-Imrān, 19]

— Benefits mentioned by Ibn Kathīr about this ayah. 

• The two types of Ummah — ar-Risaalah and al-Ijaabah.

• The story of the Jewish boy on his  deathbed and tears of the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم.

• Ibn al-Qayyim on the 4 Pillars of disbelief — Kibr, Ghibtah, Ghadab and Shahwah. 

• Ibrāhīm and Ya’qūb عليهما السلام advising their children to enter the religion wholeheartedly. 

• When Ibrāhīm was commanded to sacrifice his son Ismā’īl عليهما السلام. Details of the submission of Ibrāhīm compared to the much lesser submission we have to make.

• How quick the Companions were to submit; response of ‘Umar رضي الله عنه when the verse was revealed to abandon intoxicants.

• Intoxicants and the 10 cursed regarding them. Gambling and it’s dangers.

• Ā’ishah رضي الله عنها about how the Muhājirāt responded when the āyāt about Khimār/Hijāb were revealed.

Advices on how to enter Islām wholeheartedly:

• Being humble upon the truth when it comes to you. 

• If sincere advice comes from a person who is not sincere, then accept it. Example of Bilqīs, the queen of Sheeba. And Mūsā and Hārūn عليهما السلام and sorcerers.

• Having certainty in resurrection, accountability and reward. Example of man in Sūrah Kahf who did not believe his garden would perish or that the Hour would be established.

• Not to constantly look to this worldly life, nor to be amazed by it. Brief enjoyments of this world and what they consist of. 

• To fear the misguidance after guidance. Du’ā of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم when he would leave his home.

• To fear an evil end. What leads to an evil end, mentioned by Ibn Rajab.

• To understand the blessing of this religion. Narration of ‘Umar رضي الله عنه that Allaah ennobled us through Islaam. 

— Narration of Ibn al-Mubārak that dying upon the Sunnah is a miracle - and how this applies more in this time.

• To be different, distinct and oppose the Mushrikeen and open sinners who will be fuel for the hell fire. Narration about Muslims following the Jews and Christians.

• To turn to the Book of Allaah and stay away from the Quraan of the Shaytaan. Ibn al-Qayyim on the specific effects of music, how it cannot combine in a single heart with love of the Book of Allaah and how it is comparable to intoxicants.

• To never stop the fight with Shaytaan. Do not say “eventually” you will do good deeds because that day may not come. Ibn al-Qayyim on how if Shaytaan is able to misguide a person when they are at their strongest in terms of senses and faculties, so what about at point of death?

• To return back to our lord like a slave running back to obedience of his master, and not be the captive of our desires. 

• To make our tongue moist with the remembrance of Allaah and the limbs active in the obedience of Allaah.

• Virtues of Imām al-Barbahārī and his foundational book Sharḥ al-Sunnah
 • Emphasis on adhering to Islām and the Sunnah, with a warning against altering the religion — whether by adding to it or taking away from it
 • Reminder of the importance of unity and recognising Allāh’s favour:
“And remember Allāh’s Favour on you—for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together…”

 • The importance of following the Sunnah and not attaching oneself to individuals or scholars, regardless of their status — except the Prophet ﷺ

Narrated by ʿAʾishah (رضي الله عنها) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Ten things are from the fiṭrah [natural disposition and inclination of man]: Cutting the moustache, allowing one’s beard to grow, using the siwāk [to clean one’s teeth], washing one’s nose with water, clipping one’s nails, cleaning the knuckles, plucking the hairs of the armpit, shaving off the pubic hair, and Istinjāʾ cleaning oneself [after answering the call of nature].” The narrator said: “I forgot the tenth one except that it may be ‘washing one’s mouth with water.’”

The Statement of Laa illaha illah - is the Key to Paradise.



The Shahaadah is the foundation of al-Islaam, it is the first Pillar of islaam



Umar ibn al-Khataab said: "Islaam is built upon five things, The testification to Laa ilaa ha ilal Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah....."



So the virtue of the Shahaadah is indeed great and lofty, it enters people into islaam

The Prophet, peace be upon him,  said: "The best statement that I and all of the other Prophets have said is the testification of Laa ilaha illalah, to him belongs the dominion, to Him belongs all praise..."

The Prophet sent Mu'aadh ibn jabal to Yemen and instructed him to call the People of the Book to firstly Laa ilaha ilallah and is from the first of affairs in Islaam, it is the first matter a person calls to when giving Da'wah

The Prophet likewise instructed the dying folk to say Laa ilaa ha ilallah

It is from the highest part of Eemaan. Eemaan increases and decreases as Ahlus Sunnah believe 

The Prophet said: "Eeman has 70 odd branches and from the highest part of it is Laa ilaaha illalah"


It was said to Wahb ibn Munnabih: 

Isn't Laa ilaaha illalah the key to jannah? He said 

"Indeed it is, however every key has teeth, so if you come with the key with the correct teeth then the door will open for you however if you do not have the correct key the door wil not open for you"


Thus if you come on the Day of Judgement  with the Shahaadah fulfilling all of it's conditions then you will be successful Inshaa'Allah. The Shahaadah needs to be actualised throughout one's life and for it to not  merely be a statement upon one's tongue


Shaykh Ubayd introduces his explanation to the treatise by mentioning:

- Shahaadah linguistically means a sign, 
- Islamically the Shahaadah and it's conditions are matters for a muslim to know, that it is imperative

Women in Islam Conference

Islam shows care and attention to the family. A society consists of families and families consist of individuals. Just as a building is built on a foundations, society is built on its foundations – individuals and families.

Islam commands both husband and wife that they treat each other in a good befitting manner, with mercy and kindness. They are the foundation of the family. 

Indeed Allah is with those who have taqwa and those who do good. (surah: verse). This is not complete until both husband and wife fulfil their rights.

A husband and wife should discuss their expectations of each other and their roles. This will avoid crossing each other.

The home should be built on tawheed, imaan, the remembrance of Allah and seeking knowledge in order to be successful. By this, they will attain Allah’s pleasure.

From the best of ways to remind each other is to seek knowledge and to share it. The man who goes to the masjid to seek knowledge should take his family with him. If he can’t, he should share it with them when they go home. 

Knowledge is also the right of the women and the children – that they are taught correct Islamic teachings. 

“The best of you are the best of you to your wives and I am the best to my wives.” – this hadith is a clear indication that a man should treat his wife well. 

“The most complete of the believers in imaan are those who are best in manners and the best of you are those of you who are the best with their womanfolk.”

Both husband and wife should continuously make dua to have righteous children – even before they are blessed with children. This is the example of the messengers.

This lecture deals with the status that Islam gives to the Muslim woman and the importance of her role in society.

Islam has ennobled the woman, fortified her position and raised her rank. It has commanded us to be good towards her. 

In the times of jaaliyah she had no rights. When they had a female child, they buried her alive, for fear of being “dishonoured”. She had no rights to inheritance at all. She was treated like a slave. Islam came to raise her.

Even in the West, women have only recently gained the right to inheritance.

Islam allowed the women to seek a divorce, whereas this was only allowed recently in the west. 

Regarding the pagan Arabs, Allah says: “And if one of them is informed of the news of (the birth of) that which he set forth as a parable to the Most Beneficent (Allâh) (i.e. of a girl), his face becomes dark, gloomy, and he is filled with grief!” (Az-Zukhruf 43:17)

*The first bone that Ādam (alayhis salām) was created from, the same bone that all humans will be resurrected from, after the two blowings of the horn, the first blowing which strikes dead the remaining creation and the second blowing which begins the resurrection.
*Belief of the Jabariyyah (those who believe we are bound by our decree and we have no freewill and are similar to feathers in the wind) explained in relation to the people of the hell-fire and people of paradise.
*Belief of the People of Sunnah regarding Qadr and its 4 levels:
*Allāh knew what would happen.
*Allāh wrote what would happen (based upon his knowledge of what you would do).
*Allāh willed it (in the sense he allowed you to carry out that which you carried out, after you made your own choice).
*Allāh created it (He created everything related to the action of the servant, whether the eyes, limbs, tongues etc)
*Allāh gave mankind his own free will and choice. A Hadīth of the Messenger of Allāh (sallallāhu alaihi salam) which shows this: “Whosoever on the day of judgement finds good, then let him praise Allah and whosoever finds other than that, then let him blame himself.”
*Importance of taking your Islamic cultivation and education from those who adhere to the correct Aqīdah and Salafi Methodology.

What is Salafiyyah?

It is the way Messenger of Allah and the companions and to call to it with wisdom and call to that which is best while striving oneself in acting upon what he calls others to.
It is the balanced middle way

“Thus We have made you, a balanced nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger be a witness over you.” 2:143

Shaykh Fawzan said the word Salafi does cause a split, between the Salafis who are upon the way of the Salaf (the Messenger of Allah, his companions and those who followed them) and the people of innovation and misguidance. This is a praiseworthy distinction. 
“And I followed the religion of my fathers Ibrahim, Ishaaq and Ya’qoob, it is not for us to associate anything as partner with Allah” (12:38). 

We ask Allah to make us from those upon the Madhab of the Salaf.
We do not just gather people, but we call them to the book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, in accordance to the undersanding of the Salaf and the sound creed.

“And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun and the Ansar and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.” 9:100
“ihsaan” in this verse means “itqaan” means being precise in following them and reference to those who follow them in knowledge and action. So it is upon you to learn the madhab of the salaf and so you can hold fast on to it.
