In 2015 LearnThruMusic Courses worked in partnership with The Princes Trust to deliver three of our unique, specially tailored and fully accredited music and literacy courses to young people in Rhyl, Swansea and Newport.

The brief was to work with up to 50 young people between the ages of 18- 25 who were not in education and training (NEET).

In May 2015 LearnThruMusic were welcomed to Hillside Secure Unit to deliver one of our innovative alternative curriculum workshops to help re-engage the young people housed there back into education and learning. 

This bespoke 2-day workshop was designed to improve participants’ literacy skills in an indirect way through the development of song lyrics, as part of the overall challenge of writing, producing and performing their very own song. 

As always, our main focus was to engage participants fully in the subject matter by exploring topics they feel passionate about, to embed these topics into the lyric writing process and to create a music track in a genre they most relate to. Our professional tutors and musicians were always on hand to guide them through the music making process and to help them work through the accredited workbooks.

As a company we focus on using music and songwriting as a medium through which to engage with and teach participants new skills. These may include music production, lyric writing, music performance, singing and more.
 
Almost everyone can enjoy music in one way or another. Music is a fantastic tool for breaking down social barriers and raising confidence, and best of all, it is accessible to all.

ABOUT US

The Learn through music concept was conceived by educational resources and training provider Rewise Ltd. Rewise was founded in 2008, we develop and provide innovative educational resources, accredited and non-accredited educational courses and creative training services.

We believe that by making ongoing-learning, revision and training an enjoyable process, we make it easier to acquire and recall knowledge. Participant and customer feedback also shows that this approach is not only a highly effective teaching method, but is also more fulfilling and empowering than conventional teaching methods.
