Leaving Mercury formed when Connor Hollowwa and Dave Opack met in dental school in 2010. 

They began recording musical ideas on a laptop and the project eventually morphed into the tracks that became "Which Way." While searching for a vocalist, they realized they didn't need to look too far when fellow dental school classmate Ryan Morrison joined Hollowwa and Opack for a jam session and his voice fit nicely over the style of music. 

Within the next year the group met Andrew Trotter at a local bar and convinced dental classmate Greg Pisotti to switch from guitar to bass to complete the band.
