Gladio Operations inaugurates 2023 with its seventh release titled “Split Machine”, a new series of shared EPs, where in this first episode the producers Jauzas The Shining and Cycloplex go halves on the EP.

The French producer returns to Gladio with three cuts which possess his peculiar and characteristic rugged sound. The EP launches with "Business Machines” and “Isla De Encanto”, two powerful cuts with aggressive and noticeable basslines filled-up with dark textures. Jauzas gifts us a last cut titled “Equation”, a nod to the EBM sound, where he preserves the same darkness as in the previous cuts.

On side B we encounter the Spanish producer Francisco Aguado, who has recently released his first work under the "Cultivated Electronics" label under his new electro alias, Cycloplex. With two cuts titled “Intercepted” and “Acid Machine”, Cycloplex reveals his particular minimalist vision of electro sound in an abstract journey of excellent monotonous rhythms.

For this 84th Premiere of 2023, we have a track by the Producer from France devoted to Electro "Jauzas the Shining" titled ‘Fractional Difference’ from the fundraiser compilation for Huwara on the record label founded in Tel Aviv around 2015 by The Models : Confused Machines.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.
All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.

Aliens was produced over a span of 10 years by Eugene Black fo ©specimenrecords_2023 Paul Rip is one of London’s original acid house pioneers, responsible for the seminal Clink Street parties in 1988. By 1992, he was running Plink Plonk Records with Mr.C, one of the UK’s most reliable sources of house-inflected techno, as well as recording for the label as Krypto and Underground Science. After leaving the label in 1998, he explored multi- sensory art and electro-acoustic music before forming Specimen Records in 2012, which continued the Plink Plonk ethos online. Now under his production name Eugene Black - Black Arts Circus and celebrating a rare 12-inch EP "Neuromancer, Paul still swims in the deep electronic waters running below Detroit as machine clouds of Carl Craig/Basic Channel textures swirl over the hypnotic groove of Tetracyclic for nearly nine minutes. Motor Neuron reaches further into deep space, while dub reggae inflections creep into the heaving swells under the slower ‘Ether’. This is a soundtrack to imaginary nightime streetscapes in a world that resembles our own.

Crumbling asphalt slick with oil and grease reflects the woozy glow of late night bodegas in acrid pink, yellow and green.

Drakkar Noir is a feceless figure who inhabits this world, an alias shamelessly lifted from a sleazy and long out-of-fashion scent, a brand name derived from a mashup of mythical pretensions and hollow advertising jargon. Part Human and part digital fiction, Drakkar Noir is, like the city itself, a shapeshifter who feeds and is fed by the collective dreams and nightmares floating above the buildings and into smoke-filled skies.
