These songs are the result of a week-long residency which took place at Snape Maltings in Suffolk, in May 2011. The songwriting workshop was devised and facilitated by Amy Mallett, and attended by BTEC Music and Music Technology students from Suffolk New College.

Students were encouraged to find stories from their surroundings at Snape, from which they developed lyrics and musical material and shaped this into a suite of songs which were recorded in a live performance in the Britten Pears building at the end of the week.

Thanks to Andy Hopgood, Chris Ash, Chris MacCarthy and Ginette Davis for their support during the week. Also to Richard Bingham and Ross Peters who recorded and mixed the students' material and provided technical expertise throughout the workshop.

Thanks also to Aldeburgh Music for providing such a welcoming and creative environment for us to work in.
