Message from the artist:
'Big Rave Energy' was born out of a difficult period in my life starting with the pandemic: my studio was shut down, labels crumbled, I lost much of my team, and moved to a new city. It was a difficult evolution for me personally but through all of this my focus came back to what I really love about music and rave culture - a sense of wonder, power, and connection. In the album art, the symbol of the man ascending is based on that feeling: something that takes us out of our daily lives, something transcendent and supernatural.

Globe trotting bad man, official DJ of Street League Skateboarding, ex pro snowboarder, adventurer, father and stalwart OG of the scene, we're proud to introduce Nixon as the latest artist in our Selection series.
Nixon cut his teeth in the Blue Note era of Drum & Bass which is a testament to the authentic sound that he consistently delivers. You can hear the influences of early Metalheadz, Good Looking Records and Moving Shadow echoing through his productions.
Unmatched in his ability to create a nostalgic hands in the air dance floor moment, the Basement Selection is a melting pot of fresh but familiar mid tempo beats, masterfully woven together and presented in the progressive fashion we've all come to love from Nixon.
