"French imprint Community Center returns with its fourth release this March, entitled ‘66BEO’ and coming courtesy of the fledgling Nantes/Paris, France based producer and DJ, MLF.

Since establishing itself in 2020 the Parisian Community Center imprint has unveiled an amalgamation of rave-tinged sounds and styles across its last three releases from Pasteur & Tsy, S3A and Mayflo. Here the label continues to bring raw, experimental electronic sounds with the debut EP of MLF, a blossoming artist merging influences of breakbeat, house, jazz, and electronica across this six-track EP.

Leading the release is ‘Intro (Best Kind)’, setting the tone with cinematic pads, bubbling synth sequences, broken drums, and high-pitched vocal lines. ‘Chianti’ follows, laying down choppy breaks, ethereal textures, Hammond organ licks, airy arps and bumpy bass grooves. ‘FM’ comes next, diving deeper via dreamy synth swells, 2-step drums, and elongated bass tones.

‘In The Mood For A Jazz Interlude’, as the name would suggest takes a hazy break from the dance floor via organic percussion, soft brass tones, warm piano lines, and walking bass grooves. ‘Yeah’ follows next and shifts focus back to the rave with bouncy piano licks, squelchy acid synths, pulsating subs and crunchy drums. ‘La Presa Di S’ then rounds out the release, employing classic rave piano hooks, entrancing synth stabs, shimmering vocal chants and dynamic drums throughout."

At last, here we are! For the first release of our imprint we're proud to present you an EP that perfectly represents our global vision of house music. For this occasion the eclectic producer Valerio Vaudano takes off his several aliases and gives us 4 different but complementary tracks exploring different soundscapes of the 4/4 electronic music: from house to techno, through deep and old school sonorities.
The A side starts with "I Can't Forget That Gurl", an enthralling 90s flavoured house track with a melancholy aftertaste. From there it continues with "Gimme A Slice Of Pepperoni": an energetic house track contaminated by a cocktail of rave and garage samples. "Armani" (an homage to Robert, the godfather of techno) opens the B side: imagine an old school techno synth, a roaring 909, a saturated bassline and the game is done. "Wasabi" closes the EP with its romantic mood: a dream-house nearly downtempo track made of oniric pads and a smooth 707 to accompany it all - perfect to play as final song at sunrise, from first to last beat.

Some good things take time, originally produced by Stefan Betke in 2008, "Paris-Beirut-Texas“ never went beyond the point of being a funky and very rough sketch. For various reasons it got stuck in his live performances and "Paris-Beirut-Texas“ was never completely finished until the end of 2015.
We are very happy that this groovy deep driving dub techno pearl is finally being released on vinyl!

The B-side has Japanese producer SO INAGAWA turning the original version into a light footed swinging house track. SO INAGAWA has been releasing music since 2005 and reached the height of his international acclaim with two 12 inches and an album for Cabaret Recordings .

Our beloved Slices Of Life artist BAAZ (owner of Office Recordings), adds to this B-side a stripped down to the ground version of Betke´s track, creating a warm mysterious dub house atmosphere with echoing sounds and voices that seem to talk to us from the deepest depths.

Dance music supergroups are few and far between these days, so a trio of expert dance exponents have formed to redress the balance.  Extra Credit is a new project brimming with the expertise and musical chops of Joe Goddard, Marcus Marr and Justin Strauss.   

‘Emotional Make-Up’, their debut single, lands on Ali Tillet’s Warm imprint, bringing with it the last rays of summer, as they jam out a feel good, end of the night, future house classic!

Australian hot property, Loods, follows up a well received single for the Classic label, with a remix and dub mix that accelerates the tempo and drops a hooky organ riff over its rolling beats.

Sensational artwork for the release comes courtesy of Bráulio Amado, the NYC based graphic designer who has produced stunning visuals in the past for artists such as Beck, Róisín Murphy, Frank Ocean and Robyn.

Between Goddard, Marr and Strauss, over three decades of music has poured from these musical minds, including releases on Strictly Rhythm, Emotive, DFA, Greco-Roman and Domino.
