Next up we have MLF gracing the decks for our IWD22 celebrations. 

@lefur-marie21. Is a French DJ & Producer, born in the west coast of France in the town of Nantes. She is mainly inspired by the expanding realms of house music and aims to bring the good vibes through her selections. 

For her IWD2022 mix for Juno, MLF selects a range of glistening melodic house cuts and driving rhythmic pulsations, a perfect selection for afternoon listening

French imprint Community Center returns with its fourth release this March, entitled ‘66BEO’ and coming courtesy of the fledgling Nantes/Paris, France based producer and DJ, MLF. Since establishing itself in 2020 the Parisian Community Center imprint has unveiled an amalgamation of rave-tinged sounds and styles across its last three releases from Pasteur & Tsy, S3A and Mayflo. Here the label continues to bring raw, experimental electronic sounds with the debut EP of MLF, a blossoming artist merging influences of breakbeat, house, jazz, and electronica across this six-track EP. 

‘Chianti’ follows, laying down choppy breaks, ethereal textures, Hammond organ licks, airy arps and bumpy bass grooves. Out March 18th via bandcamp & streaming services.

‘In The Mood For A Jazz Interlude’, as the name would suggest takes a hazy break from the dance floor via organic percussion, soft brass tones, warm piano lines, and walking bass grooves. ‘Yeah’ follows next and shifts focus back to the rave with bouncy piano licks, squelchy acid synths, pulsating subs and crunchy drums. ‘La Presa Di S’ then rounds out the release, employing classic rave piano hooks, entrancing synth stabs, shimmering vocal chants and dynamic drums throughout."

MLF
MLF aka DJ SUPER JACKPOT a un seul motto « for love and passion of music ». MLF est un pur produit nantais mais s’inspire des quatre coins du globe musical. Depuis toujours bercée par la musique électronique, elle commence à produire à l’âge de 16 ans grâce à FL Studio. Ses inspirations sont assez larges, pianiste dans un groupe de jazz, guitariste dans un groupe de rock contemporain, la musique est son exutoire. En grandissant elle développe une passion pour la House des années 90s et elle se met à produire dans ce style.

Controleuse de gestion, diggueuse le jour et éleveuse de foule la nuit, elle confirme son statut sur la scène parisienne avec son premier EP « 66BEO » sur Community Center distribué par Underscope. Elle prépare un prochain EP pour lancer son second projet, inspirée de vibes trancy !

The Mycelium Shroom Syndicate is really proud to present its first VA "Who let the shrooms out? #1", fully released on the 2nd of November, right in time for mushroom harvesting season!

We've got a flavorful basket of shrooms over here… on the one hand we have a range of Breakbeat vibes coming from all over Europe. Milano-based producer Vi got us a spooky ambient Breakbeat track, it will seriously give you the chills! UK vibes coming from Protean Sound, London-based extremely promising UKG producer, but also from the Paris-based duo Hellenah Plus who produced a hell of a banger with a Ghetto twist. Then, from the Paris-based artist El Pico, we have a groovy jungle track full of energy.

On the other hand also we have a trancy dreamy vibe from 3 French producers… Charleeps' track is a progressive trance track with a fine acid line and an italo-ish twist that makes you groove! DJ Super Jackpot (aka MLF) gave us an uplifting trance track with a perfect cheesy sample that's to die for. Finally, DJ Overclock (aka Babel) takes us on a techno-trance oniric trip into the beats with a powerful melody.

France’s Community Center welcomes MLF back to the imprint under her Dj Super Jackpot guise this November with the ‘Livraison’ EP, comprising five high-octane, trance tinged, rave workouts.

Marie Lefur, better known as MLF and Dj Super Jackpot is a French producer and DJ based between Nantes and the French capital of Paris. She debuted on Community Center back in March of 2022 with the ‘66BEO’ EP and here returns under her other alias, Dj Super Jackpot which gravitates sonically towards a more rave and trance inspired house sound.

Up first on the EP is ‘Qui Es-Tu’, laid out across seven minutes with ethereal trance textures, bright stab sequences, murky bass notes and shimmering vocoder like voices throughout. ‘I Say I Got What U At’ follows next and lays down skippy percussion and a thunderous kick underneath vacillating synth licks, elongated subs and breathy vocal uttering the track’s title.

The ‘Stay (Vocal Version)’ follows next, employing choppy acid licks, airy vocal licks and crunchy drums alongside a steel drum synth melody and mesmeric piano lines. ‘This One’s For You’ then shifts focus over the bleepy electronic tones, circling synth hooks, chanting voices and a robust drum groove before the ‘Instrumental Version’ of ‘Stay’ concludes the package.

Sixth and last edition of the compilation resulting from "Chineurs de House" Producer Day contest. The renown group that played an important part into driving back House music into the french club music scene's spotlight is now retiring after eight years of loyal service.

It has been an honor to serve, share and contribute to the development of some careers, friendships and even love stories.
Now it's time for us to focus on projects that are more like us.

With several releases under her belt Marie Lefur steps up under her MLF pseudonym to deliver the first episode of the art:cast series of 2023. Mixing uplifting, disco-esque, 90s and trance-influenced tracks from her conglomerate Marie compiled and mixed a journey through the sub-genres of House maintaining a powerful and not easing synthesis of the art, pushing the listeners through the full hour of the podcast. The energetic DJ does not seem to slow down in any way, may it be production-wise, Marie just released a full EP under her (more) Trance-moniker DJ Super Jackpot on Community Center and a track on Lis Sarroca's MAAI label as MLF, or as a DJ. With so much energy and talent the French artist is surely one to look out for in the future providing (her) music a groovey yet melodic touch giving it an irresistible twist you do not want to miss.
