 The uk-based label @talkingdrumsrecords introduces you to the French-based @plasticbamboo for their second release, with a deep balearic and dark-disco trip across raï sounds. On the A1, Plastic Bamboo double doses an unknown new beat 7” extending the Arabic acid delight for a six-minute soak. Properly peaking and packed with Middle Eastern flava, ‘Râ Beat’ is primed for dance floor demolition.

Expertly curated by eclectic DJ's External Love; the compilation consists of eleven tracks hand-picked to reflect the spirit of warm summer nights by the sea. 'Paradise Lost' by Running Hot is an irreisistable mid-tempo balearic house groove; a touch of 80's style sprinkled across the production with it's crispy, punchy drums, soaring pads and gentle keys that combine for a heavenly ecstatic feeling. Plucked from the outer limits of the Spanish underground comes a 21 track selection curated by Trujillo, as he explores the forgotten corners of the 1980s and early 90s Spanish music scene. Veering through early bleep and hip house, electro, boogie, Iberian pop and much more, it has broad appeal to both Balearic heads and diggers alike. Serendipitously, the cover art for the compilation is an original work by Yves Uro, a figurehead of Ibiza’s party scene from the 70s and 80s and whose visionary poster artwork became representative of the white isle.
  
Ritmo Fantasía is the result of over a decade’s worth of record collecting by DJ Trujillo, searching out bespoke stores, markets, and dealers. For the first time ever, it brings to light and groups together some  hidden gems from an era that without it, would likely remain hidden from view.

About one year after our Vol. 2, clubs and dancing bars were closed again in France. This sad news made us decide to launch again our Edits series, slightly renaming it “Paradise edits”. Fortunately, the good contacts we made through the last year helped us pulling together this new compilation quite fast. First, we had the Brooklyn duo Fundido, part of Earth Beat crew, with whom we had been chatting for quite a while and talked many times about having an edit from then. Then, we asked Sputnik, a DJ from Moscow to join, as we were enchanted by his work for That’s A Steal and his release on Gop Tun records earlier this year. A few days later, Nicolas Kotowicz, another Russian artist, contacted us to share his edit and we thought he would be a perfect addition to the comp. Finally, Latane introduced us to Lloyd with a bunch of edits and we were very keen to include him too.
Here’s the result of their works and a few questions we asked them about their stories and their approach to edits.

These tracks were written and produced over the last week; a most unusally quick turnaround for me :) It seems isolation has caused a burst of creativity. The current lockdown also affected the feel of the music; these two tracks are quite sombre in tone but with a note of positivity running through them, hence the titles. Anyway, hope you like the music.

Classy rework of a balearic house tune.
They first found this track a couple of years ago at a time when they were listening to a lot of Russian music and started working on an edit of it around that time, but it didn’t really go anywhere. This summer they decided to have another go at it, keeping the pop / catchy atmosphere of the tune and emphasizing the disco (even proto-house), in particular the piano solo part.

The wild boar society was always known as a warrior society.

At age 7, young boars entered a rigorous state-sponsored military training and socialization program that emphasized duty, discipline and endurance.

For centuries, young wild boars have been denied of their right to gather freely and fall in love.

The military based rituals were designated to reinforce twisted ethical principles in the minds of the followers and were the only social interaction allowed.

A group of young infidels stopped fighting
the urge that boars fought for centuries.
They deserted military drills, grew their hair and created their own new ritual called Lambada.

This spiritual journey awoke the suppressed spirit of the wild boar and revealed the sincerely beautiful nature of this noble animal.

Sadly, Lambada soon became known as the forbidden dance and all it's partakers were persecuted.

To this day, Lambada remains an underground ritual.
