I know we say this almost every week, but for our next edition of Trommel InSession we have something very special for you. The moniker Respond/React might be new but it is comprised of three artists that are certainly not new to the scene. Artists Man/Ipulate, Massaï, and Lamalice will no doubt conjure up lengthy Sentaku parties helmed by their founders and regulars that have helped the Parisian / London based label and event series to flourish. The ethos of the triple trouble combo offers fresh perspective in the relationship between crowd, the music and the emotion that comes with hearing a new track at home and the effect that it has on the audience at a gig. 

The three have illustrious solo adventures and so the prospect of all three artists working together behind the decks is mouth-watering. Luckily for you this ethos was cemented in the live recording of their set for the French brothers Mates in Bordeaux. At the Sentaku showcase Man/Ipulate, Massaï, and Lamalice deftly switch between banging house, grinding basslines and insistent breaks all with a special synergy between them that resulted in this vibe heavy recording.

POUTCAST #50: Massaï

For our next InSession mix we present a live set from festival curator, label owner, and super talented live artist P.O. The aforementioned festival and label of the same name of Era.Ora couples together an energetic mix of sounds that go some way to define what P.O himself prides himself on. From his own releases on the likes of Griffe and 22Recordings his style is upfront, but always with a twist of the mystique.

His recording is a unique blend of rugged basslines, heavy hitting drums, a smattering of French Touch, and the odd curveball. This all combines to produce the desired effect, which is a sound palette that is all his own. This Corsican is quickly on the ascent and one listen to this tour de force will explain why his live sets are so highly prized.

Joining us for Tapes #115 is ERIS, a Berlin-based duo formed by Enrica Falqui and Dea. Two souls from different musical histories met on a simple night out. They instantly connected and their taste and passion spiralled into production and mixing sessions. Their debut EP was released on CABARET Recordings and with that Moments EP was created.

Enrica Falqui represents the Sardinian half of ERIS. Her journey begins somewhere in 2009, when she started to create music and DJ. The years that followed were filled with contributions to dance culture with her DJ sets, alias productions, and her own record label. Dea represents the Croatian half of ERIS. A woman who has danced on all floors and experienced many memorable musical journeys. Born into a family of musicians, Deawas dancing before walking and playing piano before she could write.

Alex Picone is a man who's seen many trends come and go and is now existing in a space outside of them; without a doubt occupying a unique spot in the dance music landscape. 

Primarily known these days as one of the co-founders of Seekers and Small Black Dots, with an extensive discography behind him and having put his hand to numerous other projects, there's a maturity to both his production and DJing that's rarely seen in tandem.

This propulsive, two-hour mix blurs the lines between the two; laden with Alex's own productions, the singularity of his artistic vision and depth of his record bag is on full display.

His love for music started from a young age, as he remembers already creating his own selections by picking in his parents CD collection and playing them on repeat. 
Discreet but always sporting a contagious smile in everyday’s life and behind the decks, his unique blends of various sub-genres of house are impregnated with a very sensible and class atmosphere while maintaining all the hands high in the air! 
He offers us a incredible selection of house with a slight touch of disco but not only, perfectly pairing with the beginning of the sunny days.

Wielding his record bag of deeply dug house, tech, progressive and trance adjacent cuts, Freels is a regular face in the international touring circuit and has graced the decks at notable clubs and festivals including Panorama Bar, Dimensions Festival, and beyond. With a seemingly endless treasure trove of creativity and momentum behind him, Freels is poised to continue to use the energy of the Liquid Earth project to trailblaze and treat us to his idiosyncratic brand of ‘tech house with a twist’!
