London Pop-Dance trio, Le Grind, return with 'Toute Chaude'

Group's second single set to dominate dancefloors worldwide.

Following on from the success of underground club hit and debut single, 'I was There (Where Were You?)', described by MTV as “quite possibly the most flamboyant dance song the world has ever heard”, Le Grind turn up the heat with their next offering to the club scene in the form of 'Toute Chaude', a sweat inducing melting pot of funk, disco, rap and electro. 

Having first met on the dancefloor of a Queens nightclub, collectively vibing to a Prince record no less, the trio of  songwriter/producer Gareth, vocalist Reyna and drummer/producer Boo, formed Le Grind upon returning to London and quickly gained acclaim from the likes of Pop Justice, Gay Times, Notable Dance, Beige Magazine and EQ Music. Hard to ignore, the groups debut instantly grabbed the attention of the likes of Andy Bell, Roisin Murphy and electro pop legend Marc Almond, who after publicly Tweeting “I love this, great track”, provided a rare cameo in the official video. 

'Toute Chaude' is certain to continue the winning streak with no holds barred. “It grabs you by the hair, tears off your sweat-drenched clothes and pushes you deep into the heaving throngs of a harem” explains Gareth. 

To further ensure Le Grind's presence in DJ record boxes across the globe, the trio have also enlisted Andi Durrant to  contribute to the selection of remixes available in the release.

Formed on the sticky dancefloor of a nightclub in Queens, friends Gareth and Boo chanced upon Reyna whilst collectively singing along to a Prince record. Reyna’s voice soared above the PA and naturally drew in Gareth (songwriting/ instrumentation/ production) and Boo (drums/ production). Quickly becoming friends, the trio decided to record together back in London, and release their debut.

Proof that disco definitely does not suck, their debut single I Was There (Where Were You?) was an underground hit. The track received reams of positive press from the likes of MTV and Popjustice and Marc Almond even made a cameo in the provocative promo video.

Their second single Toute Chaude increased their exposure with airplay on BBC6 Music, KissFM, Gaydio.

And now they’re back with their third single, Pillow Talk. A throbbing electronic funk/pop workout that tells the familiar story of that boy who promises you everything until he dips his wick and slips out quick.

Armed with a self produced promo that features a new “onto the next one” dance move called the Tinder, and their own set of club mixes, Le Grind are determined to drive their own limousine straight to the top. So pull up to their bumper, baby.

Glamorous, playful, empowering, fierce and full of life - we've been fascinated with the Vogue Ballroom scene ever since first seeing the documentary Paris Is Burning. The Ballroom scene is a gay subculture that erupted in NYC in the late 80s. It gave those outcast from society a safe place to socialise, dance, compete and play with gender. Originally popularised by Madonna's song, Vogue back in the 1990s, the scene today is still defiantly active and stronger than ever, especially in London.

Formed on the sticky dance floor of a nightclub in Queens, NY. London based friends Gareth and Boo met native New Yorker Reyna Lauren whilst collectively singing along to a Prince track. Quickly becoming friends the trio recorded their debut underground club track I Was There (Where Were You?). The track received glowing press from the likes of MTV and Popjustice and the promo even featured a cameo by Marc Almond.

And now Le Grind are set to release Bricks, the follow up to the critically acclaimed Pillow Talk, a song the Guardian called the “most infectious dance track ever” and which received radio support from BBC6 Music, KissFM and Gaydio.

Inspired by the sounds of the underground Ballroom scene in late 1980’s NYC and films such as Paris Is Burning and more recently KIKI, Bricks is decorated in horn stabs, Chicago house pianos and 808 claps. Each lyric is delivered with a sassy snap, urging the apathetic Millennial to get off their butt and go work for it, “if you don’t break a sweat you’ve not earned it”. Reyna Lauren’s commanding vocal throws you up against the wall like Chaka Khan and Gwen Guthrie have just tag teamed your ass, whilst a pounding electronic kick drum nails the track firmly to any dance floor or runway.
