Rising stars Pentatones, justly lauded for their distinctive blend of oblique pop, jazz-inflected electronica and languorous torch songs, receive the full Steve Bug treatment on Poker Flat's latest transmission: a meeting of minds that produces an utterly seductive dancefloor anthem. The original version of 'Karma Game' appears on the Pentatones album "Ouroboros" which will be released early 2015.

Distilling the original's haunting noir pop into a deep techno groove, Bug suspends tinkling chimes and tuned woodblocks around a gritty bass stab. A choir of siren voices follow, hauntingly layered as the tension builds and the riff tightens its grip on synapse and sinew alike. But all this is merely a prelude to the introduction of Delhia de France's vocals: a heartstring-pulling foil to Bug's intense repetitions, creating a heady blend that is deeply involving and instantly memorable.

An instrumental version gives harder-leaning DJs the chance to focus on the hypnotic riff and crisp, percussive touches that comprise the trademark Steve Bug sound, topping off a rich and unforgettable package.

The full premiere of today is a remix by none other than Edu Imbernon. Twisting the WhoMadeWho original from a slow electronica tune into a a faster, yet subtly ambient house track, Edu Imbernon manages to capture the mood of the original by using the guitar riffs in just the right places. Teasing with the vocals until about halfway of the song before letting the lyrics truly kick in, this remix has proved to be one of those songs that you just have to play on repeat for days.

Scott Diaz & Matt Jam Lamont have been working together since 2008, forming a fruitful collaboration which has been responsible for remixes of much loved house classics such as Roy Davis Jr's 'Gabrielle' (which hit top spot on Traxsource for over 4 weeks) and Raze's 'Break 4 Love', as well as projects for Champion Records and Kerri Chandler's Madhouse.

Scott has been making a splash in the last 2 years, most notably for his pitch perfect remixes of Lovebirds 'Want You In My Soul', and Ron Carroll's 'Back Together. He's a big part in the revival of all things funky and bumpin' in the house world. Matt, a pioneer of UK garage and house, continues to remain as relevant as ever, still racking up the gigs and taking his sound to to Dubai, Ibiza, the USA and more.

The idea was to uncover some perhaps under-appreciated tracks from Scott and Matt's back catalogue and this EP contains 5 previously released jams alongside 1 brand new cut, entitled 'Dub Like Mine'.
