Courage

Earthly sunshine where'd you go your light only illuminates the poles
Veins and rivers how do you flow to the ocean's heart in this vast unsteady pulse
Well you float and sometimes you catch a wave cause a wipeout's better than waiting to be saved
Destination is within reach so now's no time for dying on the beach

And when the tide takes over, pulling you in
It might seem like you no longer know how to swim
Sharks that circle beneath the plover, pulling you down
Waves that crash over and over until you drown

Stabbing downward into the blue, the light rays stop short of what we never knew
Miles untold of dark and cold until the boiling lava pits that spew
Pallid creatures you've never seen waiting to pick your bones until they're clean
Nothing's wasted, no not a crumb, return you to the minerals you came from

And when the tide takes over pulling you out
You'll pretend that you don't know what this is about
Uncertain times, uncertain waters throw us around
Find something light and hold on tight or else you will drown

Fractured unity
Cardboard boxes drifting out at sea
Random currents are all that decide
Who will sink and who will make it out alive
A tidal wave of saturation looming high
Darkens all the water and it blocks out half the sky
The cavern of ancient souls is drawing near
Once you come to terms with it, there's nothing left to fear
