Sonic 3 will always be one of my favorite games! Here are some alternate takes on some of the levels and themes. There will likely be more of these in the future! Some of these are WIPs and not 100% perfect yet, but enjoy nonetheless. :)

Sonic 3 - Alternate

Salad Plain Alt. (Past Variant)

This is an Act 2 remix of Endless Mine from Sonic 3. Could you imagine if Sonic 3's competition stages were full-scale levels? This would probably be the result.

This mine is home to rubble, crystals and gemstones of plenty, but not consisting of the magical MacGuffins you seek. But danger is lurking around every turn. It's getting more and more difficult to navigate through the waterholes and dimly-lit tunnels. And those vertical-looping shafts last for so long, you'd think you were there for ages. Some might even say that this mine is...

Infinite. What? You actually thought I'd say "end--" You actually did.

Ahem. Moving on... Then, halfway through the mine, you'd get in another cart that begins to speed down the rails. The rails curve up at its end, and you shoot off into the air, revealing a massive opening in the cavern's roof, and the magnificent sunset beyond it. Your one peek at the outside world before you sink back down into the mines, and your only motivation to escape this boundless cavern — to see the sun once more. 

Now, with this goal in mind, you must keep on moving ahead to escape from the mine. With some luck, you'll make it through...

I suggest an alternative solution to trying to get the rights to use the songs that are currently providing a roadblock in greenlighting the project.

HEY! Have you signed the petition @ http://sonic3remastered.com/ yet???  You should go do that. That's what these are here to raise awareness for. A remake of one of the best games of the 90s and possibly ever! Tell SEGA to make it happen. :D

[Alternate] Theme of Knuckles

This doesn't even NEED an alternate. D: Crap. Oh well. I wanted to make less of a 'tropical party' song and more of a 'Wow! new place, let's explore!' theme here. It's not quantized perfectly, and I'm likely to touch it up later. Consider it a WIP!

Rather than redoing act 1, I decided to finish act 2. I might redo both later. They both have some decent moments, but I think them (and carnival night act 1) could stand to be redone at some point. Based off of https://soundcloud.com/nine-zero-music 's act 1 (go check out his stuff!) I kind of slacked off after I heard that it wasn't likely we'd ever get a remake of Sonic 3, and never finished this. I put a few band-aids on it, and ... well, here it is. It's far from perfect, but it bothered me not seeing the set complete (folks kept asking about it. :P )  Not the greatest, but eh. As always, I ignored polyphony rules.
