Something else from that life-consuming project of mine. This song is for a very, very windy canyon that has been the basis for all kinds of wind-based experiments using ancient technology. 
(I'm 99% sure this clips in places. Sorry about that, if it does.)

Windy [Day]

It's been a few days, so here come two more music files. :V More from that project (I think that's basically implied at this point. xD)

This theme plays in a small outlying village in Kerlynzia, an empire where a large portion of this project's story takes place.  This village, La (roughly translated, 'La' means 'missing part' or 'removed bit' in Kerlynzian) has always sat on cliffs on the eastern coast overlooking the last living sea. 
Since the days of old, it's been home to two kinds of people: Farmers, and fishermen. In fact, this place would be entirely inconsequential to the rest of the Kerlynzian Empire at large, if its ruling noblewoman hadn't completely vanished off of the face of the earth. Of course, most of the rest of the empire forgets La exists. As such, the Imperial Knights task a useless former deserter with tracking her down. A deserter from the isle of Qaimusu, a scrawny one-eyed girl with a chain-smoking problem.
She arrives amidst relentlessly pouring rain that has been pelting the whole southern half of the empire for weeks.
Aside from the fact that she can't light up a smoke, this is the least of her worries. Something about lady Kiryl, the noblewoman of La really really bothers the girl from Qaimusu. A gut feeling. Perhaps a scent from childhood... something familiar that can't be shaken.

There are storyline reasons as to why, yadda yadda, etc. Interesting to note, though, this version you're listening to was written first -- back in 2003, in fact. Back then, I was only using MIDI, and didn't have a very good mastery of composing yet, but I recently revived the MIDI for use in this project, alongside the arrangement I just linked, as they are thematically related. I didn't use all acoustic instruments, despite the fact that the setting is a very rural one. This might throw some listeners off, but the emotions of a song are more important than the method by which they're brought to the listener! Besides, animés put rap-metal to ninja fighting scenes, so this is totally cool, right??

Huliyah Village [Night]

From ECO! :D This is the theme that plays in the two palaces in the country of Kerlynzia. In season 2, it is heard in the palace within the walls of the southern capital, Auraimsho.  It includes a bit of Kerlynzia's national anthem, too.
"The palace was something people talked about having seen, or had been by, when I was little. I heard it was a really special place, full of history and whatnot (at least after the last capital got wiped out a few hundred years back.) Anyway, my expectations were a bit different from reality. Given, I was being taken in as a prisoner when I first really got a close look at it, but it looked less fantastical and more... imposing. In time, it became part of what I came to know as 'home.' It was always there, watching over me and the other children in the barracks, as we busted our knuckles and broke our bones training to defend it." ~ Versearrun's diary

Imperial Palace [Night]

Oh hey, I'm still working on ECO. :V This is a theme for one of the antagonists, ('villain' doesn't really apply,) Syrrko
While most of the Aegiys share a theme ( https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/the-order-of-new-gods ) a few members in particular have themes of their own. The main one of these is God General Syrrko.  While it's unclear which division he oversees, he does play a prominent role in both the science division and the military division of the Aegiys.  He tends to keep to himself and is very rarely heard from directly, preferring to act through others. This gives him more time to work on the things he finds most important. Unfortunately for Verse and company, they may be at the top of the list.

Drowned Man

Time for a little more Elancia music! This nameless port town (referred to simply as Los Marineros by locals) is located entirely in a cave, and is pretty hush-hush. Anyone who's never sailed with pirates likely doesn't know it exists, and those who do, well, they're likely not to tell. 
The closest two countries are the Kerlynzian Empire and Bajandrus, so I mixed the sounds from both with some swingin' piratey sounds!
This place is the closest place Derrik Lancaster, king of the pirates, has to a home. Early in book 3, along with Basil, Cecelia, and Stella, he stops here in preparation to tackle the most dangerous kind of adventure -- one that leads inland.

I wanted to try and do a more subdued arrangement for the song overall, but I still like the original, so both will be on the album. It was fun to do a 'cute' sounding song for once! Enjoy.

To most, Huliyah village seems like a far-flung ramshackle settlement atop seaside cliffs, but to Verse, it's as close as she's come to finding the truth about her sister -- if she truly even has one. The person who is at least pretending to be her sister lives here, but so do many strange truths.
(Yes, it's another arrangement of Dream Sea. :V )

One of the songs on that is the most fun to play on the entire Elancia OST is definitely Don't Look Down, the theme for mountain areas. It just so happens that there's a very important one in the third book in the series, which means the third album in the series should have a fresh arrangement, right? So, here we are.
This time around, I took inspiration from Wild Arms 3 for the most part. That game's very dear to me and influenced a lot of Elancia.

Don't Look Down [B3 Arr.]

Bajandrus is one of the countries from the Elancia Chronicles series. Verse and company spend a decent amount of time here later in the series. It's got a sort of latin feel to it. Half of the country is jungle and the other half is desert, separated by a mountain range. This is the theme for unnamed towns/villages on the jungle side. My main inspiration for this one was Grandia's OST.

Bajandrian Village 2

The Central Checkpoint, Zaere sits smack dab in the middle of the southern quadrant of the Kerlynzian Empire. It's the main military base in this quadrant (the oldest one in the empire.) It's also where Verse is based out of for a majority of the second and third books in the Elancia series. It's a lot different from the night time one for sure! Much more military-ish! During the day, trainees are out in the fields sparring, or running exercises. The Empire's getting ready for war, after all... This theme uses the Imperial Knights' main theme from the second album, also!
Art of Verse in her work uniform is by Renz! This song will appear on the third album.
