Ah, good to see ya again! I'm not sure I recall you working on a MIDI rock album. But it has an authentic sound to this track. I can't tell it was made using MIDI control.

More melodic than many rock songs, fine compositional quality (a rarity these days), great instruments (like @marcb0t suggests, no one would know it's MIDI if you hadn't said so), and an overall wonderful listen. I look forward to the full album, as well as everything else you're working on. :D

@marcb0t: Oh yeah! :D I guess I never really mentioned it much -- it's called Roadtrips. It's actually about a really, really difficult trip I took with my boyfriend at the beginning of 2015. We drove from the south end of the country to the north one to spend the last few weeks we'd have with a terminally ill friend, although it touches on facets of things outside the trip, etc. It was probably one of the most difficult things he or I have been through. I wanted to create something that could tell the story by itself.

@fragmentd: Oh yeah! I ended up kind of... revisiting a lot of these songs after what happened in 2014. I kind of needed a canvas to paint all those feelings and such on, and so... that album happened!

Start and ending guitar is a little Silent Hill. Best part imo. Also reminds me of the Giga Robo theme somehow. Not grooving this as much as your other stuff, seems like it could use a few more "elements." But I ain't no musician.

Between mountains of other work and projects, I'm still working on the Roadtrips MIDI rock album! This is one of the bleaker, more laid-back tracks. The album goes through quite a lot of moods -- like any good roadtrip. I'll probably say more about what inspired each song on the album when it comes out.  This picture's from the roadtrip that inspired the album and... well, that's a story unto itself.
