For the 70th release on Colour and Pitch, we welcome back Belfast's DJ Joma and German spoken word artist Moon Aton for 'Divinity', a truly breathtaking melodic deep house cut.

Founder of the Personal Belongings label and regular on Alex Kentucky's Be Adult Music, Kanedo introduces warm chords and smooth percussion for his subtle rework of 'Divinity'.

PMP071 - Binop (MA)

Hungarian producer Paul Kardos shows up on our Bonzai Progressive imprint with fantastic two tracker, The Workout Song. He marked his Bonzai debut on Green Martian with the wonderful Tres Sonidos EP back in July 2015. Since 2013 Paul has been churning out the quality on OLD SSQL Recordings with a raft of releases focusing in on the Progressive House side of the tracks.

The Workout Song intros with a very cool sequence of subtle melodies that intertwine with harsher  synth shots and quirky FX creating a colourful, textured sound. A nice and chunky kick comes through and is joined by a fantastic  pulsing synth that sits on the offset. Crispy hats and sharp claps deliver a rhythmic flow to the sound as the layers continue to build. A subtle bass sits back and allows the groove to move while adding just enough oomph to the groove. The short break allows chords to develop that takes the track even deeper into the progressive house abyss.

We Are One sets out with a nice chunky kick and a gently tip tapping hat. A distant synth begins to rise and becomes the big focus in the sound as it mesmerises with a subtle sweetness before crashing out to unleash the true deep traits of the track. Warm chords and a deep reverberating bass take over as we settle into a solid deep progressive groove. Those chords go through a transformation as they are opened up to reveal a striking bright melodic flavour. The break lets the melodies shine and weave intricate patterns that captivate beautifully. A wonderful display of melodies that will definitely appeal to many.

A special two-hour summer mix recorded by SeifO, a rising talent from Egypt.

Having started mixing his sets with influence from trance and progressive, SeifO created two beach-themed sets in 2011 under the playlist “Sea” which includes “Mediterranean Atmosphere” and “Ras Sheitan” featuring well known trance names such as Ferry Corsten, Moonbeam, ATB, Dash Berlin, Solid Stone, Rex Mundi and more. Both sets gained strong local support.

As music evolves with time, in 2017 SeifO explored melodic techno and deep house and created the playlist “Space” which includes the sets “Interstella” and “Tour De Force” featuring the likes of Tale of Us, Stephan Bodzin, Recondite, Maceo Plex, Patrice Baumel, Agents of Time, Pan-pot and Einmusik to name a few. His ”Space” themed sets got recognized and supported by well-known DJs such as Pan-pot, Omnia, Bobina, Jean Claude Ades, Michael Klein and Mikael Weermets.    

Then, in 2018, SeifO created the playlist “Sand” to experiment with new sounds and the result was “Shantaram”, a mystical musical journey which gained support from the likes of Milo Hafliger, De Kunstenaar and Kevin Di Serna. The set featured originals and remixes by Birds of Mind, Stavroz, Just Emma, Hraach, Rasi Z and more.

In 2019, SeifO created the playlist “Podcasts” that includes his guest mixes which started with Egypt’s prominent music channel Seashellbeats. SeifO then followed his first guest mix with a second one for Montreal’s Soul of Zoo on their Multi Cultural Beats series. 

Now, for SeifO’s third guest mix of the year, we are happy to feature his longest set yet, a two hour journey into the summer of 2019!

Our 11th guest is JEME.

JEME is a DJ/producer. Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, has been exposed to the various classical styles and instruments of Arabic music. The road to music was not a clear path, however the passion for it was inescapably present. JEME was craving diversity and growth, so he decided to continue his studies in California and was exposed to the blooming music scene in Los Angeles. JEME loves various genres and sounds but he also loves melodic sounds. Combining  traditional instruments with cosmic and nostalgic tones, JEME aims to provoke his audience with an array of emotions all at once. 

JEME has played at music festivals like Burning Man 2018, EDC Week 2019,
Minimal Effort 2018, Beyond Beach, Jeddah Season, Sweet Night in Jazan & MDL
Beast in Saudi Arabia. Also, from 2016 to now, JEME has shared the stage with
many international DJs like Soul Button, Layton Giordani, Ray&Javik, Just Emma,
Kmln, Death on The Balcony, Quivver and Lee Burridge and Bedouin
