Episode 007: For this episode we are super excited to have an amazing artist and super talented producer, Chris Nord (@chris_nord_) DJ and Producer from Salzburg, Austria discovered his passion for electronic music already in the early 90s. When you find him behind the decks in a club or at a festival, you can expect a groovy mix between minimalistic deep tech and minimal techno with a dark and gloomy touch, spiced up with signature groovy elements. In terms of production and his style hereof, Chris always kept various musical options open. His tracks vary from the deeper floating sounds to more minimalistic and bass heavy (Minimal) Techno tracks. But the one thing in common for all tracks, is the energy in them, focusing that on the dance floor.

With her solo project ORYZA, being one of the few female artists producing this sound in the entire world, Aashna Oriza Kamboj is taking over the psy-techno and minimal scene in India by storm.

Her music is a seamless fusion of sonic elements and experiences inspired by futuristic games and movies. Her interest in these themes dates back to her childhood, which was also shaped by her father's love for electronic music.

Oryza's productions aim to defy the conventional, commercial norms of dance music by incorporating elements of grime, dysfunctional aspects of society, and technology with a steampunk inspired aesthetic. Her sound sits comfortably between the progressive and psychedelic realms of techno and trance.

Her sets take people on a dark, groovy journey of beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops and throbbing basslines.

She has released music on reputed labels in the scene like techgnosisrecords, @soupherbrecordsofficial and alpaka_muzik.

DAVID PHOENIX is the alias of Hungarian DJ & Producer David Janecska, an artist whose career within electronic music spans two decades and a multitude of genres. In 2003, David began to make his first forays into music production, experimenting with a variety of styles that drew influence from the blistering sounds of breakbeat and techno that were popular at the time. From here, he followed his love of broken beat rhythms to the Drum & Bass scene, quickly becoming an avid collector of the genre’s musical history and developing an exacting ear for the qualities that make for a unique and impactful record while doing so.
Beginning in 2017, David redoubled his pursuit of music production. In doing so, he drew on his formative influence of techno, combined it with the mindbending sound design of neuro & psy, and distilled these elements down to their most minimal forms. The results speak for themselves, with David’s productions presenting sleek, steady, and driving grooves perfectly produced for the dancefloor. In continuing on this new path, he began to DJ under his DAVID PHOENIX alias in 2019 and released his debut EP “Cybercrime” on Dense Audio in 2020. Fast forward three years and DAVID PHOENIX has become one of the fastest-growing names in the minimal techno world with numerous releases on many of the genre’s most respected labels, including Music4Aliens, Subios, Techgnosis Records, and more. DAVID PHOENIX’s releases repeatedly chart amongst Beatport’s “Top 100” most popular tracks, and have carried him to stages worldwide from his native Hungary to Mexico, India, Saudi Arabia, and beyond. In 2023, DAVID PHOENIX has capitalized on these successes with the launch of his VISION SERPENT imprint, a record label that stands out with its unique concept and delivers quality minimal and psytech releases. LEKTRK produces electronic music of different flavours and styles within the dance/house/tech music genre.

The LEKTRK sound is like a blast from the past with house and tech steroids packing serious production muscle.  Listening to LEKTRK is like taking trip back - but riding in a gleaming futuristic melodic spaceship. 

Between those acid vibes and tribal rhythms, beating furiously always where it’s darkest before light, sit those chunky tones, pounding deep into the recesses of your primal brain. It’s from these shadows where you might find Mike Clark (who heads up LEKTRK), a softly spoken London born, Melbourne bred techno producer and DJ who’s been consistently delivering some of the heaviest and darkest of selections for some time now. He’s not afraid to pay respect and homage to techno of the 2000s era, whilst managing to bring new dark and psy elements to his work. His meticulously crafted productions will occasionally send any-a-Berlin clubber from yester-year into a warm wave of nostalgia. 
LEKTRK has an ever-evolving style that can be heard in his music creation, but one fact remains, it is always relevant to the times. Priding himself on constantly pushing the boundaries and exploring the unknown, whilst also having a remarkable knack for replicating sounds that have been popular for generations. His releases tend to plot tricky yet coherent lines between techno, slick dark/bush tech, and progressive house. 
The first hit for LEKTRK was in 2018 with Tech House track "Storm" gaining huge attention locally in his hometown of Melbourne and has made a splash internationally, finding favour in many of the world's hottest clubs and reputable online radio. Since then, LEKTRK has had a string of Techno and Tech releases and notable collaborations, finding favour with clubs and DJ’s alike.
LEKTRK’s recent release on the mighty Senso imprint, “Bump”- is a chuggy club banger. This track has a pulsating baseline, an infectious thud guaranteed to cause your toes to tap and head to nod. This baseline is complemented with an assortment of grinding acid notes that are sprinkled throughout the track, laid in such a way as to give it a futuristic air. It's complex and dark enough to keep its edges sharp, yet versatile and groovy enough that it will get a run on any good Techno playlist. 
Mike also hosts a monthly radio show on Kiss FM Australia called ‘The LEKTRONIC Show’, showcasing and featuring new music and focusing on his favourite local/international artists and labels, having had notable guests of current and rising talent from Crescendoll, Frisson Records, LCK, Mavic Music, MexCalito, Tomchilla, Unknown Concept, to name a few.
