Recorded in 2015, this was my first mix as Kutkh Jackdaw. Blackest Ever Black was a huge influence for me back then and both the label and radio shows helped me to discover artists and genres that were completely new and fresh sounding to my ears. Inspired by this, I wanted to compile a selection of tracks that showcased the wide variety of sounds that I was listening to at that time.

Kutkh Jackdaw - Sessions #1 (2015)

Fill-Lex Records presents a new sonic alliance between its head, Lex-Or, and Chari Prima, member of Haus Frauen, a post-punk band from Mallorca formed in 2016 by 5 women. Ingrata, the name adopted by this project, is a word with a meaning that can be due to different interpretations, and one of them, the least aggravating and most suitable, refers to roughness, to the icy nature of a texture or of a rough and irregular material. However, this is merely an assumption and one of countless ways of describing this new project morphologically.

Ingrata releases this first eponymous EP showing hints of a sound based on organic percussion, with rough nuances and a diversified style, in which we can find from the soft and hypnotic techno of Tag Fur Tag to other degraded sonic arguments, such as Digitale Lust. This four-track, which will be released on cassette, is completed with Ex Machina, a cut in which a leathery bass line prevails, and closes the EP Big Data, the most forceful of the four tracks, with an intense punch and a ritualistic sound environment.

For the 7th installment of their split-series, Dalmata Daniel welcomes both Roberto Auser for his sophomore contribution to the label, as well as a fresh addition to the catalogue: Cestrian, aka. Ali Renault, the tireless Margate-based DJ and producer, well known for his frantic, dazzling and rough releases at labels like Bunker, Cyber Dance Records or Mechatronica.

Massive, thumping kickdrums and hypnotic whispers introduce the first tunes of side A, that is ‘Awakening’ – Auser’s take on slow, EBM-esque industrial vibrations as an eerie, industrial waltz. ‘Selvage’ drives effortlessly to disco- and retrofuturistic territories, arriving at the closing track of Auser’s side, ‘Long Night’. This third cut is his longest one, steadily building up harmonic layers of dark, intertwining melodies with the devoted beats of a minimalistic drummachine, full of echoes and shimmering high-ends.

Side B starts with the energetic, rolling bassline of ‘Satan’. Ideal title for such a fiery, blazing electro hit: if you ever find yourself in any sort of Inferno-situation trying to Shazam that heated banger you hear, it is likely that it's one of Cestrian’s intense tracks from this 12”. ‘Zoltan’ delivers a gentle rumbling of a dusty bass-synth. An atmospheric, chill sequence dominates the split’s penultimate track, with dreamy chords and smooth twists on a chaotic noise-source. Finishing off the split, Cestrian hits us with ‘Lids’ – an excited and raw vision of electro, full of hazy sparks and detuned, tense oscillations. The bass cuts into our minds like blades from a giallo-opus, leaving behind nothing but the unsolved mystery of ineffable horrors.

Dead Channel Records welcomes Kelan, macabre jockey of the gritty industrial underbelly of Bristol’s deviant, avant-garde scene. 

Performing as part of the raucous and theatrical, rhythmic noise act Bad Tracking, the occult driven Salac, and resident DJ and founder of the longstanding underground night Slack Alice, the seedy raconteur has defined his sound in biting taunts, soul-baring political venom, and sleazy noir, punctuated by scummy, gnarled electronics straight from the gutter. A follow up to his ‘Downtown’ release on Bristol Normcore in 2022, This no-holes-barred, raw EP full of debauchery and bane stands fast as a praxis against the rotting establishment.

The Nothing Was There Edit Is an edit of the original industrial track from the legendary project  'Tone Set' that combines most devilish synth melodies with heavy bass and percussion from the original cut inside one more playable edit.

The Edit was made some time ago, this track has 2 official edits, one made by the label released with their box version of Cal Ranch's EP, and a long original version by the artist, we like both but we figured out we could have one edit with our favourite moments of this piece, i made it to be played in some concerts and now I'm sharing here in the cloud.
