Ares walks into a house. A lone house in the middle of the cold, desolate brick labyrinth that is the Ruins. It's entirely wooden– rustic– and floorboards creak as he steps inside, immediately stopped by a much softer sound. Ares looks down at the source of the noise.
There is dust on the floor.
The reaction was not one of dread, nor sadness. He simply stared at the dust that laid before his boot, and nodded. An affirmation that she was not at peace.
Next, Ares observed the state of the house... the oaken look was shattered by marks dotting the floor and walls. Still, there was no reaction of shock, or unease. Only a nod. 
He then observed the other areas of the house. Stains in the hallway... uncleaned dishes in the kitchen. He simply nodded again.
Then... he collected a mop, still clad in his steel-worn plating. He observed the state of the house again, as if surveying the damage.
He nodded once more.
He started with the hallway... washing away any stains he could locate. Of course, he couldn't find them all, but a keen eye helped with most.
Then, he moved onto the kitchen, cleaning the dishes and silverware. He looked down into the sink as he washed his hands, keeping a tuft of white fur in the drain, viewing it as an endearingly humanistic detail.
Ares left only one thing for last... the dust. He knew that the ashes of the dead were not to be dismissed, so he gathered her dust– any that he could– and clamped his hands together, balling it up. Then, without a shift in his expression... he spread it across the seat of her reading chair, gently settling from a fine mist.
There is no business left for him here.
