Das Kauz – mein absoluter Lieblingsclub in Zürich.
Unzählige Nächte habe ich in diesem gemütlichen Keller verbracht, tanzend, lauschend und vollkommen in der Musik versunken. Dort durfte ich einigen meiner Lieblings-DJs zuhören und magische Momente erleben.

Und nun war es endlich soweit – ich stand selbst hinter den Decks. Es hätte nicht besser laufen können: Eine fantastische Energie erfüllte den Raum, wundervolle Menschen tanzten und feierten zu meiner Musik, und für mich wird dieser Abend wohl unvergesslich bleiben.

Leider ist dies das einzige vollständige Set der Nacht – kurz vor 2 Uhr fiel aufgrund eines Defekts an der Starkstromleitung plötzlich alles aus, und das für den Rest der Nacht. Umso dankbarer bin ich, dass diese Aufnahme erhalten geblieben ist.

The Kauz – my absolute favorite club in Zurich.
I've spent countless nights in this cozy basement, dancing, listening, and completely lost in the music. There, I had the privilege of hearing some of my favorite DJs and experiencing magical moments.

And then, the time had finally come – I was behind the decks myself. It couldn’t have gone any better: the room was filled with fantastic energy, wonderful people danced and celebrated to my music, and for me, this night will likely remain unforgettable.

Unfortunately, this is the only complete set from that night – shortly before 2 AM, a power failure due to a defect in the high-voltage line shut everything down for the rest of the night. That makes me even more grateful that this recording was preserved.

Thank you to all the dancers and to Kauz and its crew!

Ich war noch Beate-Jungfrau, als ich am Sonntag barfuß über die flauschigen Teppiche trat. Es war erst halb acht, doch die Party war bereits in vollem Gange – @ghostofher und @ditolove begeisterten die frühen Downtempo-Lovers.

Die Freude und Dankbarkeit, hier spielen zu dürfen, wuchsen noch ein Stück. Um 23 Uhr war es dann soweit: Die Feierei lief dank @lucamusto auf Hochtouren, als ich die Decks übernahm.

„Oh shit...“, schoss es mir durch den Kopf. „Die ersten Tracks meines vorbereiteten Sets sind zu langsam und zu energielos für diese ausgelassene Stimmung.“
Doch ganz im Gegenteil! Die warmherzige Crowd schätzte den Stil- und Tempowechsel beim Aufbau des Sets und feierte mit Hingabe, bis es 2 Uhr schlug.

Vielen, vielen Dank an alle Tänzer:innen – eure Energie hat mich umgehauen! Ein großes Dankeschön an die Beate und vor allem an Julia, die Mut bewiesen hat, mir als Frischling diesen Slot zu geben.

Caspar David Friedrich’s Wanderer above the Sea of Fog (c. 1818) remains one of the most recognized images of German Romanticism. The painting shows a lone figure standing on a rocky peak, his back to the viewer, overlooking a fog-shrouded mountain landscape. The scene does not illustrate a specific myth or narrative. Instead, it presents a silent moment of reflection, rich with symbolic and psychological meaning.

The central figure dressed in dark attire and holding a walking stick appears calm and composed, yet his placement at the edge of the precipice suggests both authority and uncertainty. With his face turned away, the figure does not guide the viewer but instead becomes a proxy, inviting us to share his perspective.

Friedrich’s technique emphasizes contrast. The rocks in the foreground are rendered with sharp clarity, anchoring the viewer’s gaze. Behind, the fog obscures the terrain, blurring forms and creating an undefined depth. This visual tension between precision and ambiguity gives the painting its enduring impact.

The Rückenfigur motif a figure viewed from behind was one of Friedrich’s key compositional tools. It opens a contemplative space, encouraging viewers to look outward and inward simultaneously. Rather than offer narrative content, the painting functions as a metaphor for introspection and the limits of perception.

Created during a period of significant philosophical and cultural change in Europe, the work reflects contemporary concerns about the individual’s relationship with nature, knowledge, and the unknown. Unlike traditional landscapes that framed nature as a backdrop, Friedrich presented it as sublime, overwhelming, and ultimately unknowable. The fog here is not just meteorological it stands for mystery and the vastness of what lies beyond human understanding.

...Als nun der Swinegel zu Hause ankam, sprach er zu seiner Frau: "Frau, zieh dich schnell an, du mußt mit mir aufs Feld hinaus." - "Was gibt es denn?" sagte seine Frau. "Ich habe mit dem Hasen gewettet um einen goldenen Louisdor und eine Buddel Branntwein; ich will mit ihm um die Wette laufen, und du sollst mit dabei sein." - "O mein Gott, Mann," fing nun dem Swinegel seine Frau an zu jammern, "bist du nicht recht gescheit? Hast du denn ganz den Verstand verloren? Wie kannst du mit dem Hasen um die Wette laufen wollen?" - "Halt's Maul, Weib," sagte der Swinegel, "das ist meine Sache. Misch dich nicht in Männergeschäfte! Marsch, zieh dich an und komm mit!" Was sollte Swinegels Frau machen? Sie mußte wohl folgen, sie mochte nun wollen oder nicht.Wie sie nun miteinander unterwegs waren, sprach der Swinegel zu seiner Frau: "Nun paß auf, was ich dir sagen will. Siehst du, auf dem langen Acker dort wollen wir unseren Wettlauf machen. Der Hase läuft nämlich in der einen Furche und ich in der andern, und von oben fangen wir an zu laufen. Nun hast du weiter nichts zu tun, als dich hier unten in die Furche zu stellen, und wenn der Hase auf der andern Seite ankommt, so rufst du ihm entgegen: 'Ich bin schon hier'."
Damit waren sie beim Acker angelangt. Der Swinegel wies seiner Frau den Platz an und ging nun den Acker hinauf. Als er oben ankam, war der Hase schon da. "Kann es losgehen?" sagte der Hase. "Jawohl," sagte der Swinegel. "Dann also los!" Und damit stellte sich jeder in seine Furche. Der Hase zählte: "Eins, zwei, drei!" und los ging es wie ein Sturmwind den Acker hinunter. Der Swinegel aber lief nur ungefähr drei Schritte, dann duckte er sich in die Furche und blieb ruhig sitzen.
Als nun der Hase in vollem Lauf unten am Acker ankam, rief ihm dem Swinegel seine Frau entgegen: "Ich bin schon hier!" Der Hase stutzte und verwunderte sich nicht wenig: er meinte nicht anders, als wäre es der Swinegel selbst, der ihm zurief, denn bekanntlich sieht dem Swinegel seine Frau just so aus wie ihr Mann. Der Hase aber meinte: "Das geht nicht mit rechten Dingen zu." Er rief: "Nochmal gelaufen, wieder rum!" Und fort ging er wieder wie ein Sturmwind, daß ihm die Ohren um den Kopf flogen. Dem Swinegel seine Frau aber blieb ruhig auf ihrem Platz stehen. Als nun der Hase oben ankam, rief ihm der Swinegel entgegen: "Ich bin schon hier!" Der Hase aber, ganz außer sich vor Ärger, schrie: "Noch einmal gelaufen, wieder rum!" - "Mir macht das nichts," antwortete der Swinegel, "meinetwegen, sooft du Lust hast." So lief der Hase noch dreiundsiebzigmal, und der Swinegel hielt es immer mit ihm aus. Jedesmal, wenn der Hase unten oder oben ankam, sagte der Swinegel oder seine Frau: "Ich bin schon hier."
Beim vierundsiebzigsten Male aber kam der Hase nicht mehr bis ans Ende. Mitten auf dem Acker stürzte er zur Erde, das Blut schoß ihm aus dem Halse, und er blieb tot auf dem Platze. Der Swinegel aber nahm seinen gewonnenen Louisdor und die Buddel Branntwein, rief seine Frau aus der Furche ab, und beide gingen vergnügt miteinander nach Hause: und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, leben sie heute noch...

Amsel Fiesta

That sunny morning in July, Hekske (the little witch) woke up in her home forest, which was exceptionally lush and green after some good rains. Since one week, the rain had stopped and the forest was really sunny and pleasant. While she was still stretching her body before getting up, her friend Bob The Owl flew by in a hurry, warning her that there was an intruder in the forest. That was really strange, as humans are strictly barred from entering these woods by guard animals. The girl quickly slipped into her immaculately white dress and followed the owl. Within minutes, she saw the ‘intruder’. It appeared to be a little blond girl, around 9 years of age (which was by actually the witch’s own age when she arrived in the forest 10 years ago). Judging from her clothes, the girl was obviously human, yet she seemed to feel herself very much at ease in the woods, and she was playing and giggling with a family of squirrels.
The little witch approached the girl, who didn’t get scared when she saw her. For a few seconds they looked at each other and it struck the witch that this child had all the typical traits of a witch : sparkling eyes, a shiny soft skin and a character nose. Her pale blue eyes were beyond mesmerizing and seemed to be the gate to a vast inner universe. The little girl felt immediately comfortable with the witch and they engaged in a long tender hug. Despite the fact that they were unable to talk to each other, they immediately felt a strong bond between them … which strangely seemed to have started centuries ago. When walking through the forest, all animals got very curious and wanted to say hello to the new little blond girl. The witch requested the weaver birds to sew a tiny white dress for the girl. One hour later the dress was ready and the child was very eager to try it on. She looked incredibly cute in the immaculately white dress and all the forest animals uttered a collective ‘awwwwww’. She also had to shed her sneakers as witches always go barefoot. The first steps were a bit hesitant but once she felt the soft clover of the central meadow, the girl started to dance spontaneously, and she played with the butterflies. Soon the place was filled with laughter and giggles. The child had never been so happy in her whole life. Her human life had been a true ordeal with both her parents falling prey to drug abuse … and she was really determined to live a pure life far away from substances and all other vices of mankind, devoting her life to mother earth.
Next, the girl got introduced to the nymph (who is protecting the little oak tree which is destined to become the future mother tree of the forest) and they all took a dive in the nymph’s pond, where the little girl played with the dragonflies. For the rest, she simply enjoyed floating on the still water surface and looking at the little white clouds flying high in the blue sky. Despite being very playful, the girl also had the ability to be very peaceful and serene, just like a real witch.
The day quickly passed and soon nighttime fell. A family of dunnocks had made a soft bed of moss for the blond girl, but she preferred to snuggle with the little witch and got ready for her first night in the open air. The child was wondering why it was so dark, but she forgot about all that when she looked up in awe at the stars and the train of the milky way, which were clearly visible from the enchanted forest. And that’s how she slowly drifted away into a blissful sleep … her very first night in the open air … her very first night as a witch …

Hey everyone! Here's the recording of our DJ set at Rebellion der Träumer*'s party in Kater last weekend. We really enjoyed having 3 hours to work our way through several different styles that we're feeling right now. Sometimes a bit deeper, sometimes a bit higher energy, sometimes a bit groovier, but always with the lovely synths and vocals you have probably come to expect from us now!

We had so much fun playing this set so hope you enjoy it too! 

P.S. sorry for the excessive crunch on the filter towards the end of the set, it's way more audible in the recording than it was in the club! But hey, who doesn't enjoy a good distorted snare drum :)

✨ Mystic Creatures Festival 2025 | Opening Creatures Corner ✨

Letztes Jahr durfte ich zum ersten Mal die Magie der Insel spüren. Die absolut grandiose Kuratierung der Creatures Corner hat mich kaum zur Ruhe kommen lassen. Dieses Jahr nun die Eröffnung genau dieser wunderschönen Stage spielen zu dürfen – im Beisein meiner liebsten Freunde – fühlt sich für mich immer noch wie ein Fiebertraum an.

Ich bekomme direkt Gänsehaut, wenn ich an den Moment denke, als das Absperrband entfernt wurde und der Floor auf einen Schlag voll war.
Danke auch an die Crew von DachbodenBerlin und AmplifiedVeranstaltungstechnik, die den Floor so perfekt gestaltet haben.

Nach der ersten Stunde konnte ich meine Aufregung etwas ablegen und habe bemerkt, dass nicht nur ich, sondern auch einige von euch mit auf meine Reise gekommen sind. Wir waren angekommen – im Rhythmus der Insel, im Träumen und im Genießen. Das war wunderschön und so wertvoll für mich! 🫶

Ein riesiges Dankeschön geht auch an die ganze @mystic-creatures-berlin Familie, die dieses besondere Sommer-Closing möglich gemacht hat. ❤️
