Doin' Me, Doin' You - £ENA x MONK

With a distinctly rich texture, her voice can’t be mistaken for another. Lena is an artist that once you hear her - you immediately pay attention. 

Hailing from Santa Ana, California with roots from Taiwan, Lena grew up with a multitude influences from Hip Hop to Soul to Oldies. Named by her uncle after sultry songstress Lena Horne, it is almost prophetic that she now uses her voice as her platform to express her spirit. Always having had a strong connection to words and a voracious reader, Lena found escape and solace in putting her feelings and thoughts to paper at a young age. 

After a suggestion by one of her professors in college she found herself in the Cultural Center of LA, where she began to bring her written words to the stage. She began performing at cafés, clubs and festivals throughout Southern California. 

Coinciding with her stage work, she stepped into the world of recording. Developing her distinct and rich tone as a “Spoken Vocalist,"  Lena released “Broken Rough”, her 1st journey in combining beats and soundscapes with her vocals. She has since worked with numerous producers from her the U.S. to the UK, such as Face from Prophets From Beyond, Monk, Wonder Kidd, B3NBi, LP, Epidemmik and others. She has been featured on Earthbound Radio and on-line publications Crayon Beats and the debut artist blog feature on London Based Crafite Clothing Company’s website. 

Lena is primed to have her aim of becoming the Spoken Vocalist version of Nate Dogg come to fruition.
