This is a song for anyone who has ever lost someone they were taking care of. I think any health provider could tell you that they have a patient like the one in this song. I didn't really have a way of handling the stress and mental burden that comes with being a surgeon, and unfortunately that added up and I had to leave the field. Anyways, that's what this song is about. Thanks for listening!

"Émancipés du vide ?"
Est une réflexion mélancolique sur les gouffres émotionnels que l'humain entretient, sur la difficulté de nous extirper de nos attractions diverses vers le néant, nos incapacités à regarder les déchets mentaux que nous produisons sans passer par la case culpabilité, c'est une critique de la normalisation, du conformisme, du positivisme creux vanté par nos esprits trop marketés et en quête du chemin le plus rapide vers un Sens quel qu'il soit. L'illusion d'être libre dans un monde qui vante des platitudes érigées en valeurs censées incarner cette liberté et pourtant située à vingt mille lieues sous ce que pourrait être un début de chemin vers une liberté effective. Enfin, il symbolise la nécessité vitale de retrouver notre naïveté perdue et de réapprendre à voir le beau et à œuvrer en ce sens.

La grâce de la solitude ou l'anxiété sociale :
Premier morceau qui ouvrira l'album, traite de la difficulté d'évoluer dans le contexte du groupe social face à cet animal qui fonctionne bien trop souvent comme un inhibiteur d'individus et qui par les réflexes et stéréotypes qui conduisent ces groupes, et le consensus vers le médiocre que cette masse désire trop souvent, peuvent mettre très mal à l'aise une partie des humains qui se sentent bridés et inadaptés au fonctionnement de ces amas d'humains angoissants tant ils peuvent rapidement muer en usines à oppressions pour peu qu'une tête ose contourner certaines des coutumes en vigueur.

Il a était tourné globalement sur les hauteurs de Mirepoix (09)en complément nous avons quelques images de ce morceau joué lors des concerts à la ferme thuronis Alaigne (11) et au café associatif de Marquefave (31) en août 2024

This song began as a well developed, funky disco idea Roy came up with on his guitar, and shared with JJ. JJ added a wonderfully complex orchestration of various keys, including brass, strings, and the sax solo you hear towards the end. 
  JJ invited Stephen Stephen first, who came up with the funky ass wah guitar that also carries the groove. Of course, JJ realized that this is a disco song, so he enlisted Ken to come up with one of his awesome beats to carry it along. JJ had a rudimentary bass line that he played himself, but decided to get me to do the honors instead. So, I came up with a totally new bass line designed to shake your cheeks.
Once it was in the can, we decided to ask have JJ mix it for us. This is a first time JJ has mixed a song for The Eclectic Collective, and we were all impressed with his work. Stephen mastered it, as he is a master masterer. 
  We're all really impressed and delighted with the experience of working with Roy and his music. He is a very talented artist with a lot of great music to check out on his page, too.
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it, and that it makes you shake your hips while you're doing the dishes, too!

Three chord and four words: I fucking hate diplomacy. This song is inspired by daily life small talk and idiomatic expressions, that sound super ironic to my ears. I wish I could start conversations without diplomacy, but most people think I'm rude, when I just say what I really feel. This song makes you want to raise the roof after a bad day, I promise. It's time to quit the bullshit bingo.

Big thanks to Robert, Maik and Patrick from JaaRi who gave that song the special punk rock energy. Same for John for his powerful vocal takes, and Kathi for the backing vocals. I wish I could be with you in a rehearsal room and shout it out! Should be great fun :)

This few lines of text in this tune come from the novel The pit and the pendulum, written by Edgar Allan Poe.
Was it a plan to make music with this text? No, absolutely not. I wanted some text on the music I was making, but I did not have any lyrics yet. The first thing I saw on my desk was the Selected Writings Pinguin Pocket by Edgar Allen Poe. I used the text on the page where it fell open; page 262 in the 1977 edition. The plan was to make some lyrics for it later, but I stopped working on this, so I didn't. But now, after a few years, I think, why not call it a song the way it is. So here it is, ready for the world, I hope you like it.

I have enjoyed music for as long as I can remember and cannot remember a day of not either singing or listening to music. I am self-taught when it comes to playing guitar but what I most enjoy is singing which I have been doing since around age 18. Now retired singing and playing the guitar is now just a hobby and something I do to help pass the time. Have always  loved the sound of a Martin guitar.
