Six months after their last installment, Shir Khan and Exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. As usual, there's much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, Rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of Antilope's "Singing Ghost" rework. Death On The Balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on "Addict For Your Love", whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. Finally, Matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut "Only You" which sits somewhere between Rahaan and Soundstream. Excellent stuff all round.

This edit of Yves Simon ‘Au Pays Des Merveilles De Juliet’ first appeared as a free download for a super limited time via the Psychemagik soundcloud page. Blink and you missed it. 

Now, after a long wait and many licensing delays the edit sees an official release on vinyl via Leng Records. Played by many, the edit takes all the elements of Yves Simon’s original, stretching it out from two minutes to over seven making it an instant classic. 

The 12” comes one sided with an acid etched B-side and a plain sleeve.

People were saying that Norwegian fjordmakossa had died and gone sterile. But the late, great ethnomusicologist and folklorist Alan Lomax begged to differ. A magical lantern in an endangered genre we all knew and loved as fjordmakossa, with an extraordinary expression that have later allowed them to successfully populate a diverse range of habitats – from deserts to islands to tropical forests.”
