'Clickbait (This Ain’t Hollywood)' with AVNU is a red hot new single from Maceo Plex’s forthcoming album, now remixed by Life And Death label head honcho DJ Tennis.

That single offered a real taste of what to expect from Maceo's upcoming album, and now the sizzling summer sound gets flipped into a deeper, darker groove by DJ Tennis. The Italian has proven himself adept on many fronts, from A&Ring for his much-loved label to laying down subversive sets at the world's best parties via cooking up a diverse array of productions that range from deep and melodic to more disco-tinged and brightly coloured.

With this excellent new remix, he heads off to the farthest edges of the galaxy. The drums and bass are heavily textured as they rumble beneath the melancholic talk box vocals. Synths shoot off in all directions, and there is a retro-future feel to the arps as bright cosmic melodic rain falls down the face of the journeying cut.

Lucidflow have a habit of kicking off the year in style. Even by that standard, Justin Berkovi's entry onto the label - coming in both digi and wax flavours - is quite remarkable. 
Prelude heads up a quartet of tracks in style, featuring one of the best drops in recent times. The lush strings and gentle keys provides one of those "stop and gawp at your mates" dancefloor moments. Equally distinct is Dusk And Beyond, featuring bending and urging synths that sit somewhere between classic Detroit and the proto-Plaid works of Balil.
The classic Lucidflow template is represented by Something Together, running with airy prog-dub tones and spoken word snippets, while What Will We Become goes for no messing Detroit in intent - whip-cracking claps and a commanding vocal that cuts across the mix.
This release marks a new beginning for Berkovi, better known for his tougher Music Man, Force Inc, Djax and Harthouse releases over recent years. After haunting the b-side of one release too many, a reboot into a more beloved and emotional techno template is obviously reaping dividends. According to the man himself, this is no trend following phenomenon: “I've always produced deeper music, more often than not even years ago was always pushed to B sides of EPs or remixes but now it's the main thing I want to do, techno with soul. After releasing a lot of more melodic material on labels such as eevonext and an album for Trapez a few years ago I want to return to solely concentrating on this style for my music and live sets”
Hitting the street on 3rd March 2015, make sure you're on board with a man relishing a new lease of life.

After last year's massive collaboration with Spektre: "Shoot From the Hip", Chicago Loop is back on Respekt with a brace of solo productions. 
Wolf at the Door is a dystopian slice of techno with vocals from an alternative future set atop a bending, twisting, disorientating monster of a bassline. Spektre turn in a remix that maintains the feel of the original, whilst bolting on an extra layer of hoover mayhem.
"Don't Let it Go" is a deeper cut, with bubbling arps and a soulful vocal snippet accompanied by a more raw mix from Tom Hades.

'IN THE BAG' was released on Harthouse Records some thirteen years ago. After having released two previous albums on FORCE INC. Justin Berkovi's 'In the Bag' LP was a direct assault on the dancefloor and instantly captured the imagination of punters and DJs' alike leading to worldwide tours and the joining of the famed Cocoon roster.

Two of the most popular tracks were the oddly titled 'Sustained Buxom Mad Chips' and 'You're So Alien'. Both featuring heavy analog basslines they become signature tracks for the young producer at the time.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse.
