Speak Softly

Ready to face the ‘Panosaurus’, the gorgeous Harley Davidson of our dear friend Rob Baker! This evening the memory of the big hearted and kind spirited Rob came to my mind and so I dived into making first samples from Panosaurus’s engine. A quick one-hour exercise on how to turn an engine into a music sample, then use it in a Lenkadu song. Rob, I know you are not into electronic music tho we rocked out to Lenkadu together. So Rob, I promise: We’ll make Panosaurus into the most rock & roll Lenkadu song yet.

Hanging by the cliffs I played the simple keyboard line while longing for my family. 
Today I recorded a simple beat on our drum kit, added a few electronic beat effects and pushed & pulled on the keyboard line 
This now more closely matches being homesick: When I feel I am touching my family, yet they are too far for me to reach them.

A little beat experiment with gongs and non-Western kit I stashed away among my sketches while back, only to see it grow into it’s first incarnation today.

What a fun surprise to find ‘Hidden Time’ …in between the night I laid some of these loops AND today when I found them to be the perfect pallet for 'One A Day' session.

Super stoked to present the first single from Lenkadu’s 2017 material. 

I was inspired to write this song when my friend Russell Smithson gave me a ride to the airport. While talking about his life, dreams and opinions he froze our shared time, allowing me to simply enjoy the presence of a friend!

MONKEY

Floating from the Czech Republic, by way of the Netherlands and Boston, and now based in Forestville (CA), Lenkadu is an electronica performer active since 2010. Her sets combine the power of a DJ with the vulnerability of a live performer. 
She samples her field recordings, makes beats, plays drums and processes her voice as well as a range of instruments, while controlling Ableton Live with her feet.
Building on extensive experience as a touring VJ, video is an integral element of each song and is projected behind Lenkadu on stage. She creates her visuals from photos and video content she shoots around the world. 
Lenkadu’s shows are ethereal and psychedelic experiences empowered by a vision of personal transformation and collective consciousness. 
She constantly innovates her process, leveraging technology to create immersive and interactive worlds, pushing the mediums outside of the box they were designed for.
