Eddie Gordon and Lenny Fontana celebrate the influence of the Paradise Garage nightclub, which operated from 1977 to 1987 in Downtown Manhattan New York and was the homebase for one of the greatest DJs of all time - DJ Larry Levan. The series considers how the combined force of the club and DJ Larry Levan changed the music business and provided the inspiration for many of today's global nightclub brands. The show was first broadcast on BBC 6 Music in July 2011 as a 6 part series, 10 hour documentary. It has now been broadcast 3 times on BBC 6 Music - July 2011, Dec 2012 and April 2014 due to its global popularity from music fans and as well replayed countless times on radio shows around the world.

Robert Clivillés was a resident DJ in club Better Days in the late 1980s. David Cole was the resident keyboardist there and the two became firm friends.
In the late 1980s, Clivillés and Cole were active in the groups 2 Puerto Ricans, a Blackman, and a Dominican and the 28th Street Crew. At the time, they were the driving force of the short-lived Brat Pack. The duo was also responsible for the formation of pop group Seduction, for whom they wrote and produced a string of top-10 hits. They contributed to the career of former Weather Girls vocalist Martha Wash, who at the same time was one of the lead vocalists for the dance act Black Box. In 1990, Clivillés and Cole released a single featuring later C+C Music Factory rapper Freedom Williams, called "Get Dumb! (Free Your Body)", as The Crew. The duo's biggest success, however, was the group C+C Music Factory, which became a worldwide sensation in 1991. After the death of his partner David Cole in 1995, Robert Clivillés continued to keep the C+C legacy alive through his own production work. In 1995, he released a solo single under the name C+C Music Factory, called "I'll Always Be Around" (#1 Billboard Dance/Club Play), on MCA Records. This was the final #1 Dance/Club Play hit for C+C Music Factory. An album titled C+C Music Factory was released by MCA in 1995 in Europe, but didn't come out in the US. This was the final studio album of new material to be released under the C+C Music Factory name. The same year, Columbia/SME Records released Ultimate, a greatest hits collection featuring a compilation of remixes and album versions of C+C Music Factory's Sony Music Entertainment singles. Two singles were released in conjunction with the album: "I Found Love" (#13 Dance/Club Play), and "Robi Rob's Boriqua Anthem" (#29 Dance/Club Play), which featured Spanish-language reggae artist El General. In October 1996, Clivillés released an album of new material under the name Robi-Rob's Clubworld. The first single from the project, "Shake That Body", featured emcee Ya Kid K, formerly of Technotronic. The second single, "Reach", was a collaboration with Hex Hector, and featured vocals from longtime C+C vocalist Deborah Cooper. This was the final recording to include piano tracks recorded by the late David Cole.
In the 2000s, Clivillés worked with the group MVP, releasing two studio albums with the group. In 2010, C+C Music Factory reformed, with Eric Kupper stepping in to replace Cole. In May 2015, Clivillés made his debut on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart with the song "Set Me Free", featuring vocals by Kimberly Davis of the band Chic. The music video for "Set Me Free" makes reference to Clivillés' father's suicide. In June 2021, Clivillés produced and released the song "Yo Soy Latino (Vamos a Bailar)" by Latinos Del Mundo

Lenny Fontana interviews One of the Godfathers of Garage, MC Creed on True House Stories. MC Creed story began watching the famous program Yo MTV Raps while living in Canada. This show gave him the idea and push to become a rapper. When he returned back to UK, Creed discovered the new sounds of acid house in the late 1980s and was totally hooked. The lifestyle for him from that moment clubbing day and night from house to house, nightclub to Club. As the U.S. House Music Sound grew popular in the early 1990s it opened a lot of opportunities for DJs and vocalists. This gave him the idea to try the mic and the rest is history. He became known as the first MC to start with the London House Music Scene with his deep tone and prolific sound. True House Stories interviews UKG Godfather Norris Da Boss Windross. Norris opens up about his humble beginnings as a avid club goer and supporter of the scene in the 1980’s. He eventually found the art of the DJ later in life and began to play at smaller events and bars working his way up the ladder. It took for him to create his own club night for his career to really bloom in London, UK. His first event called ‘Yum Yum’ hosted by Norris, Tony Trax, Frankie Bones, Richie Fingers, Smokin Jo and MC GQ was the first taste in the creating a new Vibe & sound in the UK, pitching up US House and Garage records for more energy, this was not the norm until now. Norris presence and dedication saw him reside in the infancy of the UK Garage scene at iconic events such as; The Spread love Project, Bagleys, Ministry Of Sound, Aquarium and Mambo in Ibiza which led Norris ‘Da Boss’ to become a leading headline act, performing at tours and events worldwide. In 1994, production entered Norris’s ambition, since which he has been involved in a string of successful tracks, ‘Go Slowly’ his first studio remix, ‘Funky Groove’ ‘Psuedo’s Heartbeat’ with much respected Gavin Face Mills now one half of Copyright & then Right Before My Eyes & Liferide Produced with Grant Nelson followed by the successful launch of his own label ‘W Records, featuring acts such as Rose Windross, MC Creed, Angel 21 and MC Kie. All of his tracks exploded on the UK Garage Scene with ‘Right Before My Eyes’ featuring Kallaghan and MC Neat charting in the nationals and performance’s included ‘Top Of The Pops’. Liferide ‘NNG’ featuring Rose Windross & MC Creed was the follow up & one of the most iconic UKG hits to date. Seeing the impact of the newly founded UK House & Garage scene and proud of its growth and nationwide acceptance, the first UK House & Garage awards was created to acknowledge the industry. Norris was voted Industry ‘Top DJ’ at the awards.

Eddie Gordon celebrates the influence of the Paradise Garage nightclub, which operated from 1976 to 1987 in New York and was the base for DJ Larry Levan.
The series considers how the combined force of the club and DJ Larry Levan changed the music business and provided the inspiration for many of today's global nightclub brands. It includes interviews with Michael Linder, Vince Aletti, Nicky Siano, Judy Weinstein and Tom Moulton, five voices who saw the beginning from the floor up, created change and rode with the wave through the disco daze.

Biography Lenny Fontana:
Lenny Fontana been in the music business as label owner, producer, remixer and DJ for over 30 years. In the early 90's he was the first DJ from USA to be invited and play at Pacha Ibiza and Pacha Dubai. His first success as a record producer was in 1991 with Butch Quick “Higher” on the famous Strictly Rhythm Records. In 1999 he has his first UK Top 10 hit under his pseudonym Powerhouse ft. Duane Harden “What You Need”. The song was performed live on the famous TV shows BBC "Top of the Pops" and the Pepsi Chart Show. Soon after he had another hit with chart success on the song “Chocolate Sensation” on FFRR / WEA with heavy rotation on MTV.
In 2009 he teamed up with Jean Claude Ades and the song “Nitetime” with over a few million streams on Spotify and YouTube.
In 2011 Lenny produced alongside Eddie Gordon the ex-manager of Pete Tong & Judge Jules  the BBC Radio 6 documentation BBC Legends Of The Dancefloor
In 2013 he comes with his own label Karmic Power Records and released songs like “When You Feel What Love Has” that hits #31 position on the Nielsen Billboard Indicator Radio Chart (USA) and the huge urban station WBLS 107.5 FM, Sirius XM Venus, Music Choice and many other stations added it to their rotation.
Also he released tracks with famous artists like Alison Limerick, Shirley Lites (West End Records) and Chris Willis (the voice of David Guetta´s hit singles “Love Is Gone”, “Would I Lie To You”, “Love Don't Let Me Go” and more). Keep an eye on him there is no stopping him now.

BIOGRAPHY LENNY FONTANA:
Lenny Fontana a true New Yorker learned his craft from Radio personality DJ Frankie Crocker, the program director of WBLS 107.5 In NYC. Inspired by DJ Larry Levan, Fontana went on to play at Studio 54 in the late 80’s and other NYC Clubs. Through the 1990's he travelled the world and played at many famous nightclubs globally.
In 1991 he was the first US DJ to play at Pacha Ibiza and in Dubai. In 1992 Lenny had his first successful production with Butch Quick’s "Higher" (Strictly Rhythm). In 1999 he had his first crossover hit record, "What You Need" (Defected Records/Ministry Of Sound) with under the name Powerhouse Feat. Duane Harden. This was a Top 10 hit in the UK and was performed on the famous TV show Top of the Pops and the Pepsi Chart Show. In 2000 Lenny recorded his hit, "Chocolate Sensation" (FFRR/Warner). Both singles crossed over from the House charts to the Pop charts with the videos on heavy rotation on MTV worldwide. In 2005 Lenny Fontana pres. Octah'via (of C+C Music Factory) "The Way"(Defected Records), which became a dance club hit. After some soul searching, Fontana founded KARMIC POWER RECORDS in 2013. In 2015 Lenny Fontana & D-Train "Raise Your Hands" (Karmic Power Records) was a huge success as WMC Miami. Including remixes by David Morales and others, it received support from Louie Vega, Tony Humphries and many other DJ's worldwide. At the end of 2015 the record hit the #3 position in The Music Week Club Chart UK, and #14 in the End of the Year Chart. Lenny also produced a successful single for Meli'sa Morgan, "So Good"(Fresh Entertainment/RFC Rec). In 2016 and 2017, D-Train’s follow-up single "When You Feel What Love Has" (Karmic Power Records) received worldwide attention and hit the #4 position on Music Week Club Chart UK. With over 650 spins a week on daytime radio rotation in the USA, the song hit the #31 position on the Nielsen Billboard Indicator Radio Chart (USA) and the huge urban station WBLS 107.5 FM, Sirius XM Venus, Music Choice and many other FM stations added it to their daytime rotation. Currently, Lenny has had a release with the famous UK Artist Alison Limerick called Bye Bye (Karmic Power Records) with Phats & Smalls Remixes. In 2018 recently he has touched his productions skills into creating a full pure disco record called “FIRE with the lead vocalist Shirley Lites from Westend Records Atlantic Records. This has been well received and played all over Ibiza and all Glitterbox parties making it tune of the month in Mixmag Disco column. It will now be released on Midnight Riot Records with a new package with remixes from Dr Packer, Yam & Who, Robbie Blanco and Ron Caroll. In 2019 Lenny has worked with Hitmaker Vocalist Chris Willis on a collaboration called “Top Of the World” which is scheduled to hit by Sept of 2019 and is signed to Double Up Records. Due to the pandemic and self isolation which has forced Lenny Fontana to revisit his catalog of tapes he discovered this audio gem that was originally recorded on Digital Audio Tape the night he did live performance at The Music Factory for the famous UK Party "Love 2 Be." This is one of his many guest performances in the UK which he had the honor to play. It was the winter of 1994 - 1995. Some of the tunes are recognizable and became staples in house music and the others are part of the golden era of the 1990s. For those fans of the famous night club that remember the great parties you will enjoy hearing the soundtrack from that night once again. You can download it as well.

A True Legend who has worked with many other incredible artists such as Chris Willis, Byron Stingily, Carole Sylvan, D Train, Crystal Waters, Alison Limerick, Shirley Lites, Meli’sa Morgan and Lee John (Imagination) to name just a few.
Lenny Fontana has DJed all over the world throughout his career. He was the First American DJ to play at the world famous ‘Pacha’ - (Ibiza). Lenny has played at iconic venues such as Ministry Of Sound - (London), ‘Studio 54’ - (New York City),  ‘Hacienda’ - (Manchester), ‘La Queen’ - (Paris) and he also DJ'ed for the closing party at  ‘The Chevron’ - (Melbourne).
Each Wednesday Lenny Fontana will be joined by a very special DJ / Producer / Vocalist for a Facebook Live that will blow your mind!
Lenny will be chatting with his guests about their music careers to discover the true stories of working in this industry.  He will be unveiling the true 'behind the scenes' stories on how his guests succeeded and continue to survive in this business.
