One look at Flo’s recent post regarding her upcoming tour schedule and you know that you are witnessing an up curve of epic proportions. Over the next few months she will be stopping off at Nostromo (twice), Nodd Club, Keepitgoing, Pickle Factory, the list is huge and growing. And well deserved. She has also flexed at HÖR what seems like just yesterday, the love shown in the comments point to a musician in love with her work.

Flo’s Boiler Room performance in the close to home metropolis of Sao Paulo was immediately a shoe in for mix of the year. So, we included it in our top 25 sessions and it is her brand of cosmic, almost proto techno direction that is injected in to her mix for us. We couldn’t wait to have her record a little something for our InSession series and with this being our 100th mix in the series the results are, well, turn it up and find out.

You can often catch him at the infamous eastern block in Manchester looking through new records or putting on nights with his duo blacklisted. His extensive knowledge and commitment to the analog way of life meant we had to get him on.

PARAMIDA’s Love On The Rocks imprint kicks off 2025 with Mineral House: a brand new EP courtesy of Retromigration & Niklas Wandt.

The duo, collaborating here for the first time, have created five cuts of irresistible house music – a tapestry of analogue synths, drum machines, effects and computer wizardry. Shimmering high-end frequencies and ‘90s-inspired grooves with effervescent, liquid touches; life-affirming kicks, uplifting pads, amen breaks and vocal samples: it’s all here and quite unlike anything you’ve heard from them before.

“We met in Amsterdam through a mutual friend and struck up an immediate connection, as jazz, funk and electronic music practitioners with similarly diverse interests and tastes,” explains Niklas. “On another visit a few months later, I showed Malik some demos I had recorded in Berlin that I liked but felt stuck with. Within a matter of a few minutes, he flipped them into a pumping and extremely funky beast that became our first track together. This spawned an on and off process over the next couple months of ping-ponging ideas and elements back and forth.”

The result: an exquisite vision of ultra-fresh, glistening future house from a bright sonic planet, replete with layers of intricate programming that bubble up like rarified elements around the listener, conjuring memories of ancient shapes and forms, joyfully untethered to the past, where magical fauna soar in the skies, and dance in celebration in the crystalline waters below. 

The sound of the elements crashing against each other to create new forms, heavenly and rare, pure and exciting: Mineral House.
