Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this @ednamartinezdj . Made a mix with songs that say more than anything I could write really.....Going to play two songs I wrote a while ago, one which I performed live in January 2020 at the Museum of Memory & Human Rights in Santiago and another which was made shortly after, they're both influenced by what was taking place in Chile at the time which mirrors in some ways what we are seeing in Colombia now. As some of you may know, since the end of april in Colombia there have been more than 2,000 cases of police violence against protesters, 33 victims of eye injuries and more than 40 civilians killed by the police. Since the beginning of the year more than 60 rights defenders have been assasinated, and among them 20 were indigenous leaders. Since 2016, over 400 human rights defenders have been killed. In all this darkness, there may be some hope that the protests can create meaningful change. Last Sunday, Chileans elected a new group of citizens who will write a new constitution for the country. This was one of the core demands of the huge protests of 2019/2020.  It will be the first anywhere in the world to be written by an equal number of men and women and it will replace the constitution that has been in place since the years of the military dictatorship.  The only reason this moment of hope is possible in Chile is because of the incredible social movements that rose up to demand change. As I've said elsewhere, the courage and determination of Chilean students, activists, protesters, writers, artists has been astounding and they have/are shifted/shifting the political landscape and will continue to do so. In the past month I've heard stories of Colombian protesters taking cues from Chilean protesters and beautiful solidarity between Colombians and Palestinians also. We have so much to learn from each other. May this solidarity and interconnectedness bring us better days and in the meantime may music sustain us and nourish us. Special times, special release : our six producers are finally reunited in this third output of our Crysta Ampullaris series. Ayuji, Shonen Bat, Slowglide, Nigm, Indigo Persona and Lebird are gracing us with some of their best lockdown creations. As always, these tracks display their mutual roots as much as their individual visions of electronic music.

First, trancethusiast Ayuji takes us on an underwater journey to the lost continent : bright pads turning into epic acid lines as we’re going faster and faster through the ocean’s fauna and flora. Post-fluokid Shonen Bat switches on to ‘Memorigram’, an optimistic solarpunk bass-rolling track that suddenly gets a more contrasted and melancholic mood when the chords appear. Slowglide’s video games hermitage finally paid off, as he invites us with ‘Myst’ to a deep, bass-fueled VR trip through a self-generated jungle full of noises and glitches.

Sound-sculptor Nigm found the perfect balance between deep atmospheres and hard-hitting percussions. Built like a kind of mantra, ‘Toward Brighter Days’ slowly turns into a message of hope for the near future. Goldsmith Indigo Persona blew our minds with ‘Reality’, a DnB-infused IDM gem that showcases his stunning skills for sound design, deep textures and rhythmic twists. Last but not least, crazy scientist Lebird delivers a wistful jungle tune : surgically-precise breakbeats, heavy subs and modern tones melt together in this future-proof piece.

Leo Blomov is a solo French Pop project and live band from Reims, now based in Paris. Leo began his solo project with chamber lo-fi productions like R. Stevie Moore’s Phonography & Mild High Club’s Timeline.

The project draws its inspiration(s) in the 70s Pop of the Beach Boys and Todd Rundgren, Bertrand Burgalat’s and Julien Gasc’s French Pop, Library Music from Alessandro Alessandroni to Pierre Daven-Keller, and from MPB 70s like João Donato to more contemporary Brazilian Music like Sessa.

The debut album « Carpe Noctem » was released on Label Attitude in 2021. Leo Blomov’s new album « L’Ermitage » was released on Label Attitude and Tricatel Editions in September 2023.
