Next guest on the Ownlife platform is a well known name, in between deejays, selectors and electronic music passionates. Reeko has been a totem in the techno scene, shaping the sound of the genre during the past two decades and releasing some of the most consistent records in this category.
The prolific Spanish artist shows this time, a breathtaking palette of sounds, taking his own direction once more. Melting his signature sound with an experimental approach, putting together powerful basslines with extremely sharpened tones.
“Crystal clear” is a piece made to enjoy the abstract side of Reeko’s expertly produced compositions with the ethereal taste of the intelligent dance music, ambient deepness and stepping low frequencies.

This is a studio recording of a recently performed Acid Live Set at "Weißer Hase" Berlin. It is a rough take and an homage to my first Acid Techno experiences from 1994-1995 in Berlin clubs like E-Werk, Praxis, Vereinsheims, Tresor or Exit, when some 303 machines and one 909 were enough to rule the night. I am still in love with this sound. 

Don't expect any fancy sound design :).

In nature, dunes are sand formations often formed by wind that sculpt elegant and dynamic silhouettes in constant transformation. As in nature the concept of constant evolution and movement will be the cornerstone of “DUNA”.

"They were wild and crazy years." The Spanish techno icon discusses his early years in Madrid, running record labels and staying true to his sound for more than 30 years.

Spanish DJ and producer Oscar Mulero is a legend of underground techno. Since starting to play parties and make music more than 30 years ago, he's earned a reputation as an anti-conformist tastemaker who's adamantly stuck to his guns. While his trajectory began with Madrid's goth and punk clubs in the '90s, he eventually found techno in the early '00s and started two labels, PoleGroup and Warm Up, as homes for the hypnotic, spaced-out sound that's become his signature. 

In this RA Exchange, Mulero reflects on the early days of the Spanish techno scene and how it's evolved, as well as his own roots and influences. Today, the artist is as active as he's ever been, he discusses how he's maintained longevity as an artist in the face of changing trend, as well as his best practices for making music at home and on the road. A true legend and pioneering figure of techno, US sound architect and Geophone label owner Mike Parker breaks in on the RYC waves with a very special set full with his idiosyncratically dark, obsessive, inch-perfectly chiselled 4x4 wares. Before Boiler Room and co. were even a thing, a pioneering platform going by the name of Studio R° used to broadcast techno sets by prominent artists from a secret location in Berlin. This iconic, vinyl-only mix is Parker’s Studio R° set from 2013, now fully remastered for your listening pleasure. Building atmospheres unlike any other, brooding and transcending in equal measure, Parker has laid the foundation to an exceptionally rich body of work. Master of the industrial vocab, peeping towards Detroit but with his defining spin on the early days genre, Parker entices us down the path of steely monumentality and laser-precise mind control. Just as typically mazy, his present mix conjures up all traits of quality Parker material: 909-powered propulsion, enslaving acid whorls, Escher-like fractals. Wild, wild ride ahead.

As a DJ, Midnight Traffic’s sets tend to lean towards the more fast-paced, hypnotic end of the spectrum, with the intention of creating a cohesive sonic journey that transports listeners to the nth dimension. The last few years have seen him grace renowned venues and festivals like Echoes of Earth & DGTL in India, Lapita festival in Japan, and a remarkable Boiler Room Debut in 2022, to name a few.
