I was going through my private music collection and stumbled upon this gem in my archives. Instinctively, I found myself listening to this track every morning to help motivate myself to get through the remainder of law school, while we all worked from home during this shut-in.

Although this song was written in 2016, it dawned on me that, in these unprecedented times, now is not the time for me to hold onto a song that might help uplift even a single person trying to survive in these fighting times. COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted communities of color, but more importantly, it has had a devastating impact on people after my very own heart, my people, black people.

I hope this song can help inspire you to fight to keep your dreams alive and to keep yourselves safe in these trying times, as it has done for me, so without further ado, I present to you, “4 Quarters” by LEODEMARXXS.

LEODEMARXXS' music admittingly stumbles through the emotional complexities of humanity that often, simultaneously plague and bless Afro America, cultivating vivid depictions of Rebels in Treble.
