Leodis C. Matthews is a practiced and accomplished attorney. Matthews has worked around the globe practicing law and is currently Senior Consultant for Dacheng Law Group with offices in Los Angeles, California and Beijing, China.

Matthews attended and graduated from Lewis and Clark College in the early 1970’s. While a student there, he obtained his Bachelors of Science degree and graduated with his juris doctorate in law. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College, then the Northwestern School of Law Lewis and Clark College in 1973 before beginning his prestigious law career.

After graduation in Portland, Oregon,  Matthews went on to serve with distinction for the State of Oregon as Deputy District Attorney in Multnomah County for four years (1973-1977).

After respectfully serving the fine citizens of Multnomah County, Mr. Matthews moved to Washington D.C. While there he sharpened his expertise in trial law. Matthews assisted as senior attorney to the United States Congress and House of Representatives on the Select Committee for two year from 1977-1979.

After his term on the Select Committee, he drew his attention to criminal law. From 1979 to 1982, Matthews assisted the Criminal Division of U.S. Department of Justice on their Organized Crime Strike Force as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He closed out his time as an Assistant U.S. Attorney by working between the years of 1981-1983 with the Department of Justice in the Office of the United States Attorney.

Matthews finished his work in Washington D.C. as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Commercial Litigation Section, Civil Division before entering into private practice in Los Angeles, California. While in Washington, D.C., he served as class counsel in Civil RICO litigation, obtained several numerous pretrial injunctive orders, and litigated in several federal court cases. Notably, he was a Senior Counsel for the U.S. Congress, House of Representatives’ Select Committee on an inquiry into the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Mr. Matthews went on to be a founding partner with the international firm of Matthews, Wilson, and Hunter. The firm was an international law office with offices in Los Angeles, California and Frankfurt, Germany. While there, he focused his practice on labor, corporate, and administrative law in addition to commercial transactions and federal litigation.
