Pause Pause Pause ( Naviarhaiku 346 )

This has been a stormy fall, and in Finland has been already 40 days with stormy wind speeds as the average is 27 a year.  A small, but intense low pressure passed over creating wind speeds up to 31,3 m/s in the gusts and 27 m/s as average. 

I couldn’t resist recording this storm just in our backyard as it was evident when I opened the front door in the morning that this wind is going to make damage. (The picture)

Recording storms creates mostly undefined white noise that’s not very pleasant to listen. But it seems, that when the wind gets hard enough, there occurs (more or less) strange noise patterns with regular shapes that can make it sound interesting. 

In situ I could hear cars passing and chainsaws running.  I hope there’s a bit of this weird noise left in this recording, at least when listening with headphones.

And yes, when the gusts were as strongest, two trees come down. One pine on the roof of our neighbors sauna building 6.50 and an other one with the tree trunk breaking 8.28

Duran Duran Box Full Of Honey (Big Leo Penitence Remix 2020)

My own personal tribute to one of the most amazing songs on SO RED THE ROSE, the one and only incredible album from ARCADIA (Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran).
I managed to isolate Simon's voice and built the rest of the remix around that but I'm afraid the quality of the audio isn't quite good. Sorry guys, I tried my best ^_^

ARCADIA "Missing" Big Leo Remix 2020

Recorded live 31st December 2020. 
Certain frequencies of the recording were removed and treated separately and had Brauer Motion added to them at a low mix level. The remainder was levelled a bit in volume. These 2 stereo tracks were supplemented by a few notes recorded afterwards using a bell arpeggio fed through Fab Filter's Pro R Reverb. The resultant mix of these 3 stereo tracks comprise this track. Have a good 2021 people. Stay safe, not stupid.

First go at an Ableton track from five months ago.

First Trip

Every element in this song is made from three samples of ice cubes in a glass that I recorded on my phone. I put the samples in Ableton and with Simpler and sound design editing (Effects, panning, sample manipulation etc.) I created around 10 drum elements and 3 melodic elements from these samples. Plus I spread the raw samples into the track, with very light pan editing. I put the rhythms down quite quickly, because I wanted to make this track as fast as possible. Hope you enjoy!
