I heard this story on the radio the other night, about a man taking his daughter to the area about to be flooded by the Kielder Dam in Northumberland. They explore old buildings once filled with local music, dancing and poetry which were now "waiting for the water". The girl fetches her fiddle and plays a last song to be heard within those walls. It's a good story, of change and permanence:
