For over 25 years, the Mr. Bongo label has been at the forefront of world music discovery & re-issues. Their search for ultra rare and undiscovered records has seen the Mr. Bongo crew make regular digging trips to LA & New York and Rio De Janeiro, as well as to some of the most dangerous cities in the world in Caracas, Venezuela & Lagos, Nigeria.

Whether it's reissuing Brazilian Holy Grails to fund the medical treatment of the original artist, travelling in armoured vehicles on the way to record stores in Caracas, or venuturing to Lagos for original Fela Kuti records to exchange with Masters at Work for some official remixes.. these guys have some amazing stories & even better records.

This mix takes you on a tropical journey through the soul, funk and jazz of South America, Central America & Africa. Expect classics, one's that you've never heard before & everything in between!

This is a heated vision of tropical intoxication from Bay Area combo Gilberto Rodriguez y Los Intocables. It’s Chicano Soul power on a sidewalk glide through time and space. Ojalá is a slippery rola, cat-calling to the cosmos in stretched out summertime chants. The saunter is propelled in slithering twists and sways by fluid percussion, trumpets, guitar, keys and bass.
