WENDY MARTINEZ (also singer in the psych girl-group Gloria) is a Lyon-based songstress, whose electric pop songs transport us to a hypnotic realm, lulled by the melodious flow of her intimate, surreal French lyrics. Inspired by rock and pop from the 70's and 80's and French greats such as Gainsbourg, Fontaine, Ferré, Bashung and Vassiliu, Wendy Martinez writes and sings about cosmic love, women blossoming at old ages, the worship of the screens...

On stage, the velvet-voiced singer is often backed by three musicians who grace her vivacious texts with vintage organs and keyboards, languorous bass-lines, trance-like drums and celestial backing vocals... They have been performing together since May 2019 while posting live videos online.

Wendy Martinez released her first music video in early November 2019 (L’Aube) with the support of British magazine, "Shindig!". Directed and edited by the songwriter herself, Martinez skilfully pieced together footage of the wilderness shot during her travels in Jordan, Quebec and France. This dreamlike video, with its super-8 aesthetic is a maiden voyage - a road movie that ends with a dawn heavily-laden with symbolism.

This video heralds the songwriter’s first disk, a 6-track EP co-produced with Benoît Bel from Studio Mikrokosm (Lyon), and mixed by Greg Castellon (Belka). In tandem with the disk’s imminent release, Wendy Martinez will be bringing out a kaleidoscopic psychedelic lockdown video for another one of the EP’s tracks.

En attendant un nouvel album déjà enregistré, qui sortira courant 2022, Kacimi dévoilera jusqu’à la fin de l’année une série de singles et EP enregistrés entre Genève et Paris.

Avec le titre "À l'heure du thé" chanté en duo avec Audrey K., sa douce à la ville, Kacimi rompt complètement, le temps de 3 minutes, avec l'univers poétique de son précédent album "Gyrophare".

Cette pépite aux influences garage, nous rappelle les bases de Kacimi : entre rock n'roll de la contre-culture, univers acidulé des bandes dessinés (à l'image du clip de Laurent Blot), fuzz absurde et parfum psychédélique français à la WIZZ. Une mise en bouche douce et sucrée pour prolonger notre été disponible le 24 septembre prochain.

While waiting for a new album to be released in 2022, Kacimi will unveil a series of singles and EPs recorded between Geneva and Paris until the end of the year.

With the track "À l'heure du thé", sung as a duet with Audrey K., his girlfriend in the city, Kacimi breaks completely with the poetic universe of his previous album "Gyrophare".

This garage-influenced nugget reminds us of Kacimi's foundations: between counter-culture rock n' roll, the acidic world of comic books (like Laurent Blot's video clip), absurd fuzz and the French psychedelic flavour of WIZZ. A soft and sweet appetizer to prolong our summer, available on September 24th.
