A Sunday morning. A church bell is heard far away (As a tribute to Saint Francis of Assisi. Many birds on the field of the parabolic microphones : Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos), Common chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita, Eurasian wren (Troglodytes troglodytes, Carrion crow (Corvus corone,  Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo), among others.

Un dimanche matin. Une cloche d'église se fait entendre au loin (comme un hommage à Saint-François d'Assise). De nombreux oiseaux sont dans le champ du micro parabolique : Grive Musicienne (Turdus philomelos), Pouillot véloce (Phylloscopus collybita, Troglodytes mignon (Troglodytes troglodytes), Corneille noire (Corvus corone), Buse variable (Buteo buteo) parmi d'autres.

On hour without interruption at dawn at the Etang des Landes (Creuse, France). Already many bird species for the season. Water birds, then when the light comes on, a few forest birds. Small mammals rummage through tufts of dry grass near the microphones. In the distance, sometimes, flocks of birds take flight like a low hum.

Recorded on March 9, 2025 with a Nagra LB and a pair of Sennheiser MKH8020 in AB.

Ōshima Ryōta was a Japanese poet of the Edo period. Some sources say he was a disciple of Yosa Buson, while others say his master was Hattori Ransetsu. He's mostly remembered for his essay “Bashō ku kai” 芭蕉句解 ('Study of Bashō's haiku') published in 1759, a magnum opus of his studies and literary theories on Matsuo Bashō's work.

"Avant! Records is a label active since late 2007. Over the years we have explored all the subgenres of the post-punk / wave world.
We started this mix browsing through old releases by Kernkrach and Enfant Terrible that showed us the way when we started.
I added some of the weird garage that was kind of our trademark back then with bands such as Krysmopompas and His Electro Blue Voice and then incorporated even more experimental sounds with folk noir and post-industrial acts Reutoff and Nový Svět. Eventually retraced all the way to the present via minimal synth outfits like Nun and Image of Life and recent French punk groups Oi Boys and No Filter.
All this and more for you dark souls."
