Still You Love Me (A Song for a Father)

For 4 weeks I have written and recorded 1 song a week in a genre that I am not comfortable writing in. I have done this because very soon I would like to be a professional songwriter and write music for artists in all different genres. Therefore, I want to challenge myself to write in genres that I do not usually write in.  This week I tackled Hip-Hop. This is a genre I listen to a lot so I thought it would be cool to start with this. Every week I picked a free beat from online, wrote, and recorded the song in two studio sessions. After each week, I did not make any edits to the songs. I did all of this in this way to simulate what it would be like if someone asked me to write a song for them with a deadline. This is a new project for me and I plan on continuing. Each song you can hear the different styles of hip-hop that I attempted. I am in no way a rapper but I hope you enjoy hearing what I have learned about my own writing talents.
