“Al een goed aantal jaren ben ik altijd springend, joelend en juichend in de club te vinden. Sinds ik naar Deventer verhuisde heb ik m’n aansluiting gevonden bij de Nachtparlement-familie en hebben ze mij omarmd als vaste gast, danser en vriend. Ook bij Nachtparlement kon ik in de clubnachten de opgekropte energie van de week er helemaal uitgooien.

Een andere manier om m’n energie en enthousiasme te uiten is door muziek te draaien. Dit doe ik al ongeveer 4 jaar en sinds een jaartje ben ik het wat serieuzer gaan nemen, wat dieper in de geschiedenis van verschillende subgenres gedoken en m’n muzikale kennis verbreed. Muziek draaien is voor mij de leukste manier om tracks die ik zelf heel vet vind te delen met anderen. In deze podcast heb ik geprobeerd een mix in elkaar te zetten die groovy en energieke tracks bevat van de genres die ik zelf het vetst vind. 

In deze podcast zit een mix van garage, breakbeat, electro, jungle, en alles wat daar tussen in zit. Toen ik hem opnam waren de clubs nog gesloten dus ik heb geprobeerd het club-gevoel na te bootsen met de muziek die in de mix zit. Hopelijk zien we elkaar allemaal zo snel mogelijk terug op de eerstvolgende Nachtparlement fissa!”

My next guest on Yax Invites is Max Ctrl, a 22-year-old DJ based in Liverpool, UK.

He was introduced to the world of electronic music at the age of 16 and quickly grew attached to the deep, swinging grooves of the 90s and early 00s. Over the course of the last few years Max has developed an arsenal of oldschool techno and electro to truly be reckoned with, channeling his passion for the old sounds by spending hour after hour scouring the depths of record stores, and online tools such as Discogs and Youtube.

Max draws key influence from the 1st and 2nd generations of Detroit artists, as well as a lot of European artists who emerged over the mid to late 90s. He aims to combine the more stripped back minimalistic grooves of Detroit with the rough loops of Stockholm, London and beyond. Although he consistently plays in completely his own style, Max constantly pays homage to all of those artists that showed him the way in music, and will continue to guide him.

In this mix, like all his mixes, Max aims to show the listener tracks they will simply hear nowhere else. He tries to separate himself from the story-telling type mixing that has become so prominent in recent years, and focuses on 
fast, rough and ready, upbeat DJing packed with flavour. He hopes this extended mix will really allow him to showcase his prized collection of music like never before.

About the Artist

Nakamo's sound drifts through different worlds and eras merging driving techno, melodic textures and nostalgic grooves with a futuristic twist.

Nakamo started her DJ journey in 2020 across the North London party scene crafting podcasts over lockdown for London based techno collectives. She made her debut at award-winning artist led space and nightclub FOLD. Since then, she has made quite a name for herself across London’s club scene and is now a regular at acclaimed queer techno parties such as HTBX, HOWL, UNFOLD and Boudica.  

With two releases under her belt in 2021, including “orbiter” on Midnight Climax and “Sonar” on MFC records alongside Katia Val, Dj Medhi FX093 and Molzk, Nakamo is an emerging producer to watch.

As a techno artist from the Netherlands, Dimi Angélis first got into the electronic music scene during the late '90s by promoting raves and warehouse parties in Amsterdam. Starting his DJ career around that time, Dimi has now been at it for over two decades, while producing his own tracks as well spinning. His path as an artist has taken him everywhere from Berghain and Awakenings, to Under Club and Dekmantel.

After teaming up with Jeroen Search in 2004, the first half of his career saw him release on labels such as Stockholm LTD, Construct Re-Form, Krill Music, Falling Ethics, Warm Up Recordings, Mord, Key Vinyl, Axis Records, A&S (which he co-owns) and his own ANGLS imprint. He also gained early support from artists of the likes of Adriana Lopez, Ancient Methods, Angel Molina, Ben Sims, Cari Lekebusch, Deniro, Dj Bruce Lee, Earwax, Fanon Flowers, Farceb, Johannes Volk, JP Enfant, Juho Kusti, Kaiser, Kangding Ray, Lenny Posso, Lewis Fautzi, Marco Bailey, Nihad Tule, Nuno dos Santos, O [Phase], Pacou, Roseen, Somniac One, Stefan Vincent, The Advent, and Tom Hades.

Dimi's new track "Sasquatch" is apart of his Underground Garden release. Being techno music made strictly for basements, the nasty kick and hypnotic loop in this track is surly to put you in a trance.

We are very happy to present the next artist for our Radar series: Malmö based newcomer DJ @faleborn .
Inspired by people, nature, art and emotions expressed in different atmospheres, she creates unique sound experiences. The fascinating way music affects not only her mood when recording a mix, but also other people's emotions when listening and dancing to it, is her way of describing the beauty of music and art. 
"Everyone can relate to it in their own way."
Influenced by many artists such as MARRØN, Bjarki, Setaoc Mass and Branko, she recently started her own podcast series, which can be found on her Soundcloud page. She likes the opportunities that digital mixing gives her, as she has the freedom to quickly change the music and genre she wants to play at that particular moment.

With dancing and DJing, Maria Faleborn has gone from being a bit shy when she was young to a person who found her own way, which is expressed in her personal creative work. In doing so, she tries to tell a story, completely without words, and simply lets the music speak for itself.
For her, interdisciplinarity in art is one of the strongest ways to develop and grow herself and her creative work.
