PROJECT : Universum is a work in progress. The alarms were selected among our collection for their sound closeness
and their nuance each other. The circular plan allows us to explore the relation of the sound in the space and
to create sound movements.

universum(remixed-live)-les-trotteuses-2016

Les Trotteuses, a group of two visual artists, Anne Moirier and Aurélie Pertusot, orchestrate live alarm clocks since 2008. According to the compositions, Alarm clocks (electronic and mechanical) are programmed in advance or and are switched off as one progresses through the composition, or switched on according to a partition with a part of improvisation. Their concerts of alarm clocks can have the image of a classic orchestra strengthens the idea of a removed and absurd situation or take the form of installations and Performances. An outdated utilitarian object becomes the element of a sound composition. The alarm clock shows changes in our society : it is the symbol of work, the «duty to wake up in the morning». The performance changes the perception of a sound considered usually as a call to order.
