Muy Muy’s third release continues exploring Mexico City’s incredibly deep pool of talent, with an EP of slow burning, melodic techno from a staple of the scene: Mijo. 
A frequent collaborator with Rodion, Rex the Dog, Bryan Kessler and Sascha Funke, to name a few, he has an impressive discography under his belt for such a young artist.
Coming from a traditional musical background, this solo EP is a departure from Mijo’s club tracks that he has become widely known for, offering a darker and more subtle approach from this multi-faceted artist. Another EP for the times, these slow burning tracks are heavy on textures and melancholic memories of the long after parties that sometimes stretched for days in the hectic, chaotic, yet eternally beautiful capital that Mexico City is.
Our choice was ’Batucada’ - collaboration with chilean artist Persona, almost 7 min techno thriller, excellent weapon for 4am mindblowing peak hour dropping.

The air hung thick, laced with the smell of crumbling brick and hot sticky bodies. As the smoke ebbed and flowed through the crowd, all shapes became lost in the mist, only the odd flailing limb appearing from the darkness. The room was packed with barely any room to move, but dancers tried their best, clinging to the spaces they'd found on the dance floor. Here they'd remain until the lights came on and they were ushered out in to the cold morning...


Following the release of his Music Not Safari album on Skint Records earlier this year, DFA and Phantasy producer The Emperor Machine serves up one last batch of alternative versions, this time of the title track. Taking the same form as the previous singles, the release includes an Extended Mix, Version 54 and Warehouse Jam, all of which showcase his ability to take the same track into different unique and compelling directions.

He dreaded the morning after the night before; he was no stranger to these feelings of melancholy and anxiety. Despite the knowledge of such impending doom, it never seemed to stop him, or anyone else he rubbed shoulders with for that matter. During those moments of elation, stints of euphoria and unrequited love, it all seemed worth it. But as with anything, what goes up must come down...

Following recent releases from Club Bizarre and Aurum Miles, Blindetonation boss Kezokichi steps up for the first time on his own imprint with two original tracks backed up by remixes from Freudenthal and Arthur Johnson. The Tokyo-based producer and DJ has built up a cult following through his distinct take on hypnotic electronic sounds via both his label and his own Back To Back events thrown during his time living in London. His new EP titled Ess Tie flaunts these signature sounds, moving through eerie, tripped-out rhythms, cosmic atmospheres and deep rugged bass lines.

PREMIERE: Kezokichi - Ess Tie [Blindetonation]

The third and final package of remixes of Yuksek’s recent ’Nosso Ritmo’ LP on Partyfine arrives with fantastic interpretations from the likes of Rubin Steiner, JKRIV, CLAAP and Mark Lower and more.

Yuksek’s fourth album was another widescreen, multi-genre offering that has already given rise to two great packages including tracks by Kraak & Smaak, BOSQ, Mighty Mouse and Chloé. Now veteran French radio host, bassist Platinum Records associate Rubin Steiner kicks off this last instalment with his super smooth version of ‘Hashram Peplum.’ It’s deep, far sighted and a gentle groove with lush sax drifting up top amongst cosmic melodies.

Label regular and revered melodic maestro You Man flips ‘Cadenza’ into a warm, colourful house track with catchy riffs and long legged drums, while Brooklyn-based artist, multi-instrumentalist and co-head of Razor-N-Tape Records JKRIV brings hip swinging disco bliss to his perfectly loose, organic take on ‘The Only Reason.’ Two more
French legends in The Mekanism and Franck Roger then bring their many years of know how to a vital version of ‘Do Beljo’ that brims with golden chords, old school disco house energy and a certain sense of spiritualism that warms the soul.

Another Partyfine regular is CLAAP!, the one-of-a-kind Frenchman supported by artists such as Todd Edwards, Jenifer Cardini and Erol Alkan. His expansive remix of ‘Bateu’ has intoxicating leads, rugged arps and a tripped out sense of late night colour that is superbly alluring. Closing out this connoisseur EP is French deep house don
Mark Lower who has released on labels like Nurvous. His track has lush jumbled claps, hits, toms and kicks with astral synths, gooey funk bass and a vocal that melts the heart.

This is another essential collection of varied and authentic reworks of Yuksek’s outstanding originals.

For their next release, Samo Records gladly welcome french producer Itako, who has had some great previous releases on Reach Another System, Worst Records, Bella Ursa, and more.
Itako delivers four original tracks that feature lots of dark hypnotic arps, haunting vocals, and acid basslines.
Slow Motion's Franz Scala contributes an excellent acido italo remix of “Flesh and No Redemption” and Samo head Facets does an uptempo version of “Look at the Big Picture.”

Even in a crowded room of friendly faces he felt lost, unable to find his voice amongst the excited conversations and sputtering bursts of laughter. He needed to get out of his head and get into it, but though he wanted to, it was far more difficult in practice than it was in theory. For now he would fain a nod and muster a smile; remaining there in body but not in mind.

Manchester-based DJ, producer and 1020 Radio resident WDDS has been putting lockdown to good use this year. Following remixes for Codex and TR, a contribution to Accidental Meetings compilation, and a second release on his own Hectare Discs imprint he returns for a third on the latter, a two tracker titled Get Into / Lies From Diefeffell. Bringing contrasting but complementary sounds, the A-side merges hip hop influences with skittering drums while the flip brings deep pads and an off kilter D&B rhythm.

The stars seemed to sparkle more than ever tonight: perhaps there was romance in the air. From the comfort of their space ship they gazed out of the window, watching the cosmos move around them. It was the perfect setting for their date: a night they would surely never forget — or possibly never remember...

For more than a decade, French outfit RÜBA KPØ have been channeling their blend of analogue synthesis, sound effects, drumwork and vocals with their shared passion for electronic music. Following an EP earlier this year on Sonar Kollectiv, the four piece group embark on something of a rebrand with a new five track EP titled Arengue for RKRS Recordings. After turning their attentions to their radio show over the last few years as well as working on their live act, they now fully stretch their musical legs on this EP, pulling at strains of jazz, bass, cold wave and happy house.

PREMIERE: RÜBA KPØ - Pentagonal [RKRS Recordings]

Nobody's life was perfect but he started to think he'd been dealt a far worse hand than many others. Several toxic relationships, a myriad of lost jobs and unsuccessful opportunities, not to mention the countless mishaps, had seemed to be the dish of the day since his youth. Luck had never been on his side and things just didn't seem to go his way; he'd come to terms with living with it after all these years. 

Previously shrouded in mystery, Brother Nebula is the moniker of dance music veteran Lance Desardi who, over the last few years, has crafted cosmic and atmospheric breaks and house. He made his debut on Legwork back in 2018 with a collaborative EP alongside Solar, before quickly following it up with his first solo releases on the same label. Last year saw him land on Nick Höppner's Touch From A Distance, but now he makes a triumphant return to Legwork once again for The Physical World, an album of retro-futurist and interstellar electronics.

PREMIERE: Brother Nebula - Living With It [Legwork]

The ship had been on its expedition for decades; its captain sailing it to new and undiscovered locations, capturing the hearts of new found friends and creating memories that would last forever. Many faces joined the voyage along the way, helping the captain steer the ship in new directions. There was no final destination in mind, there never had been — only the journey mattered.

Our own pal Bozza AKA Bawrut lends a hand in inaugurating London-based imprint Other Goodness with Divergent Emotions, a collection of three tracks that, like the title suggests, pull from different moods and feelings. Produced during lockdown, the tracks were made with home listening in mind rather than the club — well, almost all, there's still that no-nonsense Bawrut flair on the opener. The other two tracks bring different flavours: 'Sunshine' channels that post-rave feeling and 'AndreW', which is a special tribute to the Guv'nor himself, matches chugging rhythms with melancholic synth lines.
