The Darker Side of Disco is a radioshow hosted by Reyk. In the monthly show he will showcase Disco influenced music with a darker twist. It will feature the latest releases and timeless classics from genres like Italo Disco, Indie Dance, Dark Disco, some trance vibes and everything in between.

I had a lot of fun playing disco at KitKatClub a couple of weeks ago, so this episode is dedicated to those vibes. The show is loaded with cheeky edits, dusty vinyl rips, and other old-school gems.

variable_self is a performer, producer, and DJ known for fusing vintage hardware with modern energy, moving from brooding atmospheres to euphoric highs. Their live acid jams, powered by 303s and drum machines, have lit up Bristol venues including Motion, The Love Inn, Lost Horizon, Exchange, and their residency at the Red Room.


Following the experimental BDGRL SDGRL EP, their latest release, Stone Jam on Remmah, sharpens their signature style: lush synths, driving rhythms, heavy basslines, and unmistakable acid melodies.

Originally "Back in the Days" released in 2004 on Resopal Schallware marked Tigerskin as a torchbearer for pop-oriented groovy House, reviving the raw energy of early 90s bleeps, swung beats, and untamed dance floor spirit but transforming it with the technical possibilities of the early 00s into his trademark romantic vision.

From the pulse of “Dance Now” to the cringey charm of “Party in My Car,” Tigerskin proved that Back in the Days was more than a look backward - it was a bridge between era's: a reminder that the roots of club culture still grow, still breathe, still move people.

Two decades on, this re‑release doesn’t just bring back nostalgia - it reminds us that reminiscing every once in a while can push creativity. The album and a few EPs around it were the start of a pretty different approaches to club music for Tigerskin, that led to several big tracks and remixes, some now considered to be classics by many. 

The three formerly unreleased and slightly more club-oriented bonus tracks had been recorded the same year but were amongst many that didn’t make it to the album.
