Ça fait déjà pas mal de temps que la dream team @good-block est rentrée dans la Family. Tout a commencé avec une invitation à Lyon qui a ensuite donné naissance à pas mal de matchs retours entre Londres et Lugdunum. La Maison M, Nuits Sonores, Le Sucre, Brilliant Corner, Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, ou encore Super5 (où les murs ont souvent tremblés durant leurs passages). Andrew (a.k.a. Tommy Squeezer) et Richard (a.k.a. The Condor) c’est une histoire 100% bromigo, c’est la branche UK de FURIE dans l’esthétique musicale comme dans la passion du meme internet ou du jeu de mot bien claqué au sol. Bref, on les kif, en vrai ils nous manquent grave, on est ravis de vous offrir un set exclu pour FURIE et on espère pouvoir vous les présenter un de ces jours en vrai, vous allez pas être déçus de nos cousins bretons. Good Block have been throwing parties in and around London for the past six years. Nomadic and sporadic in form and function, their parties are centred around danceable odd-ball gems and have hosted the likes of Jamie Tiller, Jon K, Esa, John Gomez, Nick The Record, Selvagem, Africaine 808, Bradley Zero, DJ Okapi, Jonny Rock, Apiento, DJ Vegetable and Cosmic Slop.

After a series of DJ friendly edits issued gratis, Good Block finally put out their first fully fledged EP of original material; a composite soup of influences and styles from around the Orb, trekking through slow jungle chug, cosmic Caribbean Juno jams, Japanese synth pop snares and New-Age meanderings.

Receiving early support from the likes of Antal, Jamie Tiller, Esa, CC: Disco!, Ruf Dug, Brian Not Brian, John Gomez, DJ Nomad and Apiento.

Chic had a sound of all their own, the crack rhythm section of Nile Rodgers (guitar), Bernard Edwards (bass) and drummer Tony Thompson providing the highly infectious grooves that characterised their records. They would be massively influential as a consequence, their anthemic tracks still loved all these years later, with a new younger generation embracing their good time vibe in the same way their parents might have.
 
The mix consists of 12 edits / reworks of 9 Rogers & Edwards produced tracks, all of which happened to be originally recorded during 1977-79, the years which saw Disco peak and decline, with Chic at the helm during those halcyon days, their own recordings providing 4 US top 10 singles, including a pair of #1s, whilst Sister Sledge, whose success they mentored, weighed in via the hit-laden ‘We Are Family’ LP. They even found time for a French excursion via Sheila & B Devotion’s ‘Spacer’.
