After 2 years & being played by infamous names such as The Blessed Madonna, Horse Meat Disco, Tim Sweeney, Carista, Peach, Orpheu The Wizard, Ben UFO, Rune Lindbaek, Dicky Trisco, Double Dancer and the list goes on… Canto Club is back!

From party people with shoulder pads, big hair, white Rolls-Royces, panama hats, the Fragrant Harbour that is Hong Kong had a very unique Hotel / Clubbing scene before places like DD’s, Canton Disco and Hot Gossip opened their doors.

These Discotheques were a place of creativity, panache and mischief of the era. They were all destinations of desire.

For this edition, we have a special duo called Running Hot which is making waves on the web for digging obscure gems alongside our head honcho RFX. This compilation of 8 edits from the harbor.
We have lots of glitter in this one and the usual funky percussive grooves very unique to Cantonese music.

Chuck Nolad is not necessarily a person. He is a half-baked notion about the elusiveness of time. An off the cuff remark on the ebb and flow of past partnerships. A poor excuse to revisit unfulfilled achievements from the past.

The first track, Sixindamornin is an out of time house-not-house track. It's chuggy and funky in equal amounts. It's simultaneously euphoric and unsettling. It's honestly utterly unique and irresistible.

The second track, Let the Love, is quite simply asking you to open your heart and let the love come in. That's a pretty solid advice, if you ask us. Especially when it comes drenched in ethereal synths and mind spinning arpeggios with drums and guitars that sound as if they were played by a post punk band that accidentally discovered MDMA.

PREMIERE: Hyas - Tubermelanosporum [Bardouin Music]

NIKKNAME returns home for a new EP with remixes from Benjamin Fröhlich and Mufti, and artwork from Daniel Rajcsanyi.

NIKKNAME is a Austrian based producer who has appeared on IMPACT compilation as well as releasing on Ombra International, Traum Schallplatten and Mangali. He is very much at the heart of the scene in Vienna and puts his musical talents on display once again here.

His opener, 'Bankai' is a rugged and muscular disco cut. The strident drums march into the future as cosmic waves and corrugated basslines flesh out the most steamy and propulsive groove. 'Ume' then brings even more brightness with loopy synth arps spiraling up to the heavens as synth bass and slapping drums make for a glamorous disco sound. A spine-tingling breakdown allows the synth work to shine before taking off once more. There are plenty of layers to the sleek and seductive 'Onira Tasaki', from the shiny bell melodies to the chunky drum funk and shimmering chords. It's another sensuous disco sound designed to bring both emotion and power to the dance floor.

First to remix is Benjamin Fröhlich, Permanent Vacation Records co-founder and another friend of Freeride Millenium who released on IMPACT. His Rave version of 'Ume' is just that - six minutes of colourful, freewheeling house with old-school chord stabs, jostling breakbeats and an overflow of euphoric emotion.

Last to remix is Mufti, a Mexican producer and contemporary disco tastemaker known for his work on Her Majesty's Ship. He zones out with far-sighted chords and a deep bassline that suspends you in mid-air, gazing at the cosmic keys and lost in a dreamy groove.

PREMIERE : NIKKNAME - Ume (Benjamin Fröhlich Rave Version)

We are proud to present the second album by 291outer space, the electronic side project of the well-know italian jazz-funk band 291out alongside sound engineer Ivan “Flyme” Cibien.

This new work plays tribute to a variety of legends of Kosmische Muzik and Sci-Fi world (among all, Vangelis, Shulze, Jarre, Parson, Moroder, Carpenter) re-imagining the sound in a contemporary key, therefore tradition and innovation are united in the search for a future’s Disco that is utterly to be discovered yet.
Clean drums, insistent bass-lines, spacey synthesizers and a lonely guitar compose a mistyc release enriched by an ethereal voice and shimmering flutes. The homeland musical heritage of the group definitely soaks the album with a distinctive groove alongside the oniric beatless moments.

*The track which opens and closes the disc in its two different arrangements, "Transcendence Rain Forest", is a
poetic and philosophical interpretation of the origin of humanity and the ultimate meaning of life, an invitation to flee from our uncertain destiny and apocalyptic post-pandemic present to reconnect with the cosmic flow of the planet. A resounding exhortation to go “beyond” the here and now.
