The track “Stringhe Di Saturno”, taken from “Decisioni del 1961”, Disco Morato’s forthcoming installment on Maxima Culpa, will make you think our today’s premiere is about an Italian release. The thing is: It is not. Disco Morato (SXDNS147) is a Russian artist and Maxima Culpa is his own label, hence, a Russian imprint. His partner in crime, Gegen Mann (SXDNS220/ FREEDL031), is also Russian. That said, now you know why extreme and absolute darkness prevails in the entire 4-Italian-named-track EP.

Those familiar with Disco Morato’s career are already used to his sinister-as-hell Italo-themed pieces. Those who are listening to his work for the first time must have been tricked by the title of the track and were probably expecting some colourful and upbeat Italo Disco gem.

Mr. Morato’s sonority is not easy, fellas, it’s intricate, noisy, full of distortions, and devoted to casting blackness and obscurity into our hearts and minds. “Stringhe Di Saturno”, an Electro/EBM-infused masterpiece, is the perfect example to depict in a nutshell what he intends to deliver/trigger with his productions.

The second release of the year already from the party music people of Abstrack. This time, it’s Brussels-based artist Strapontin whose original production is on the menu, with reinterpretation from several gifted companions. The multitude here is no excuse for genericity or easy recipes, rather a fertile playground for toying around with a wide range of vibes and moods.

Matches is a poetic, sensual spoken-word piece. The song feels like a flower about to blossom, though with plenty of hybrid DNA in it. In the end, it leaves the way wide open for further emotions to get through. And they do.

Sasnal Park is the emotion of wonder: looking for something forever, but for what? The drums make you believe that you found it but they turn out to be a mirage, and so does every tangible element of the track. A beautiful journey in the end even if you don’t know where you’ve been.

Family Diner … no ambiguity this time: a mystical roller as dark as it is trippy. Or maybe more trippy. Either way, not sure you can resist dancing to this one played out loud. Lose yourself to screaming halfway through, but only to fall back well-rooted in those dancing feet afterward.

On the flip, remixers put it where they’re expected to: A Strange Wedding takes the wandering “Sasnal Park” on the Edge of trancy club music, closer to the roots of Abstrack parties.

Feon turns the belter “Family Diner” into a road roller: sirens and massive subs engage into a memorable fistfight.

And home man Vidock chooses the very dreamlike “Matches”, adding quite a touch of dancefloor but not removing one inch of a dream.

A digital bonus of great value is delivered by the hands of Anatolian weapon, remixing Sasnal Park. This time, no messing around: its full-on club mood, the acid line, and the powerful beats turning the wander and the dream into a strangely haunting dancefloor weapon.

The air was thick with fog; it hung low, clogging her throat and lungs. She was no stranger to this route, in fact she'd taken it time and time again, but today it was completely unrecognisable. A pang of fear hit her square in the stomach - had she missed a turn? She could barely make out the indistinct shapes of oncoming trees and obstacles, the twists and bends in the road had been lost in the mist. Luck was now her best friend; the only thing she could rely on.

Tapan and Decha first crossed paths in 2020 when the Serbian duo remixed her song 'Niebla', taken from her sold-out debut LP Hielo Boca on Malka Tuti. Off the back of the release the duo and vocalist decided to embark on a collaboration which comes in the form of a new single, 'Twenty', which is backed up by remixes from Full Circle and Rebolledo. On the original, Decha's enchanting vocals, both spoken and sung, drift and soar high above Tapan's rumbling subs, thunderous kicks and eerie synths, which are imbued with drama and tension from the get go.

Call it female instinct; she knew something wasn't right. It happened years and years ago, the memory had been buried deep in the back of her mind, and with it the overwhelming guilt. She'd assumed she'd made it over the hurdle of being found out, that any chance of the truth coming out had long died out, but recently something told her that people knew. Slight glances, blunt interactions, distant relationships; these all led her to believe one thing, it was only a matter of time before the truth reared its ugly head.

What started out as an event series in their home of Kyiv is now being expanded by co-bosses Kostya Kottov and Techija to include a fresh label. Much like the sounds and styles that Povilno have championed through their parties, the inaugural outing - a compilation featuring artists from across the globe - concerns itself with psychedelic rhythms, leftfield downtempo and hypnotic slow burners. There's music from Inside Out co-founders Stevie R and Parisinos, from Lithuanian talent Roe Deers, Povilno label mate ID_UA and many more, who all help set the tone for what we can expect from the label in the future.

Saturn is a music project by DJ/Producer Andra G. Yoseph, which over the years had worked alongside music collectives and labels. Joining Akamady Records in 2019, he also has done several rework and remixes on other labels, one of his notable remix was released under MMDiscos Berlin. Its vibe sits in the middle spectrum between organic wave and 70’s psychedelia, equipped with subtle krautrock feel.
Karavan Haze EP marks Saturn's second original mix series release on Akamady Records. The EP starts with Moonstone Dub, a mix between dub-disco house and percussive soundscapes, evoking a trip through a nocturnal tunnel. Then comes Karavan Haze, an atmospheric electronica track that provides mind and body elevating trip. The EP closes with Santi Kush, which combines distinct aspects of world music and traditional percussion with mind-altering subliminal groove.

The 16th release of Belly Dance Services marks the 4th edition of Various Worldwide, where artists from across the globe join forces for a mini album with 8 tracks.

From Italy with love for a certain musical weirdness: 'Bubble Gum'. A mesmerizing teamwork between A-Tweed and Kakofonico. After starting off steady and percussive, the beats per minute shift up with Cosman from the Lithuanian coast when he delivers his vibrant version of 'Space Disco'. The third track 'No Man Around' is a magnetizing joint venture between AckerMan from Israel and Funboys trio from Australia. The ritualistic cowbell ceremony is followed by 'Blew my Mind', a cheerful downtempo anthem from Vienna based producer Klaus Benedek. The voyage continues via Turkey and Mexico, where Fat&Bald and Ludviq celebrate their 'Age of Trippiness' with us. The 6th track is a new alliance between Belly Dance Services head Nick Hanzo and German-Greek vocalist Geraldine. Together as 'das molekuel' their emotional 'Chasing Game' will swirl up your serotonin level. The molecules continue exploading while listening to 'Unity', a very hip collab between lithuanian sound doctor Bojarchück and Madrid based Chilenian wizard Persona RS. After traveling between various continents the journey finally arrives in the capital auf Austria. 'Cato' by Peter Zack will complete your summer with dreamy elements and dubby vibes.

Slovenian DJ/producer Marjan Vitorĳoski's productions first showed up on our collective radar back in 2019 leading to an appearance on the 1st volume of Dancefloor Detonators on Invisible Inc swiftly followed by an appearance on Curses' Ombra International imprint. Three years on and Vitorĳoski's sound is even more focussed and refined. His productions more advanced, his roots deeper. Expressing a deep passion for ancient Macedonian culture and art, his music often sounds like a bridge between his European homeland and the Orient. With an array of hardware and effects processors at his disposal that most producers would be highly envious of, his music also frequently benefits from the inclusion of organic instruments (a theme those familiar with Invisible Inc will be aware of) most notably the Persian daf (a frame drum similar to the Celtic bodhran) which punctuates each song with its hypnotic beat. Interspersed with monastic chants that seem to channel the ancestors perfectly, the swirling arpeggiated synths, pulsing bass lines and scything rhythms result in a sonic palette as rooted in history as it is fresh. It's also highly hallucinogenic. Close your eyes and you can imagine yourself transported to an ancient Macedonian opium den. The three original tracks are complemented by an epic remix from Optimo Music stalwart and Phase Group founder Mr TC who takes the acid and explores the outer limits even further. The EP's artwork (by Gordon Mackinnon) is based on a pattern from traditional Macedonian costume - originating from a period when opium dens were still very much in existence.

JIN 03 EP presents a 4 track EP from Osaka's Ground.  True to his unique soul that's reminiscent of a nomad, traversing the planet, befriending kindred spirits found in humans and various environments, this EP presents 4 pieces of unique grooves that ranges from the more euphoric vibe to both daytime & night time of a winter season surrounding a temple. 

On A side "Osakacid" comes in two versions: A1 original version is a slow motion acidic tripper under the winter street of Osaka city lights. Long Flight Version features Mayuko, 1/2 of ambient, electronica duo Synth Sisters. Her soothing melody on synthesizer layered with Ground's goofy acidic flavor compliments perfectly with each other.

B1 turns to the pure creative side of Ground. "Stone Bridge" is based on a local bridge that connects to a temple nearby his country side home outside of Osaka.  Mystic and minimalistically punchy, this cut digs deep into the soulful side of Ground's ever nomadic approach. B2 comes in a complete shock: Ground's longtime friends in Thailand - Mogambo twists up "Stone Bridge" into a psychedelic, GOA fused floor shaker that takes you to an imaginary zone of raving inside the temple late into early morning.
